Shimano SH-TR52 Men's Triathlon Cycling Shoe, White/Black, 44

I wear 9.5 shoes in everything from normal cross-training shoes, running shoes, and dress shoes. So, I based on the scale I bought the size 44 shoes which were shown to be about 9.5 US. The shoes work but have a little too much extra room (even for my fat feet). This results in a little too much overlap on the strap, which hits the crank while riding. Knowing what I know now, I would have went with a half size smaller.

Overall, shoes are great. The TR-52 model is very impressive. Only issue is sizing. Unlike most Shimano cycling shoes, the EU size 44 translates into a US 9.7 vice 10 size. The loss of the .3 inch makes a difference (at least in my case). On longer rides, feet naturally expand and there just wasn't the enough room in toe box. With that said, I ordered a size 45 which I " hope" will not be too big.

Great shoes for the price and prompt response from seller. Sole is stiff as expected and good mesh to help air out the shoes.Use the European sizing when ordering, the US size does not seem to be correct. That could be why other reviewer thought it had wiggle room. I ordered size 44 (normally wear US 10.5-11) and it fit me perfectly. The Velcro strap closed exactly without being too long or short. I noticed that on the box it states that it is US size 9.7... or did my feet shrink?
