... roll a few meters on these before realizing how great the bearings are
I only had to roll a few meters on these before realizing how great the bearings are. I went with this wheelset because:- rim depth (Some of the deepest aluminum wheels out there)- spoke count (16 front, and 21 rear. I wanted low spoke count- I'm 120 lb)- weight (1725 grams. I'm riding in flat Florida, so I don't need to spend crazy money to save a few grams)- price point (Especially considering the rim depth, it's hard to beat. Although price on these is widely variable depending on where you get them!)- AestheticsWhile they're not the best in any category, they are a good combination of every aspect. If you aren't optimizing your gear to the point you're trying trim a few seconds off a century, then I recommend these wheels.A few things to note:The freehub is very quiet, but the clicking oscillates, which is surprising for a wheel that seems to be such high quality. The black finish on the rim is "matte", not a smooth glossy finish you might expect.I wouldn't let either of these minor issues deter you. 5 Stars.Update 8/8/15:I've put 25-50 miles per week on these for a few months and ridden a century on them. They're holding up great! One negative though: I rode through some sand, and it got stuck around the edges of the stickers where they were beginning to peel off. Yes, I've had them through rain, but they need to make the logos last. I'm going to have to de-logo if I don't want sandy, peeling decals :(
