Doesn't work. Old formula is better than this new one.
I used this new formula for 19 weeks with no results what so ever. The old formula produced results in only 2 weeks and I have been using ProActiv products for over 20 years now. Very disappointed in this new formula. It was a waste of money. I had my doctor give me a prescription for 4% hydroquinone cream and I am seeing results in only a week of use. The prescription was much cheaper than what I paid here on Amazon. I do not recommend this product!

Already seen major improvement
I have to be honest, I am not good at being consistent with things. I cannot say that I have been using this product every night, as I intended to, since I got it about two months ago, but I have used it a lot and I have seen major improvements in the very noticeable acne scars on my skin. All of last year I could not get my chin clear of acne, and I am so bad because I always pick it. So I had very noticeable scars/dark spots that you could still see even when I used makeup! But they are very faded and I will continue to use this product in hope of more fading; however, if they don’t fade entirely, I am happy with how much they have already faded as I don’t feel ugly without makeup on anymore. I almost only gave this product 4 stars because it smells AWFUL. I am sure that is just whatever is in it that makes it work, though, and it is good that there is not added fragrances because I don’t like using scented stuff on my face, so I just deal with it. Definitely worth a try! I hope it works for you, too!

Hydroquinone serum
If you've had good results using hydroquinone in the past, you will probably like this serum - It's just hydroquinone serum. If you've never tried hydroquinone before, you will want to research it to see if it is something you want to use because it can cause more harm than good. Any lightening that it does produce will come back when you stop using hydroquinone products and usually it comes back even worse, so keep that in mind.I have a lot of hyperpigmentation on my face from sun exposure. A large section of my forehead, across the tops of my eyebrows, above my upper lip, and a spot under each eye. Sounds lovely, right?? These spots and patches all appeared at the same time one spring, about 5 years ago. I was not even out in the sun when they popped up. They were caused by previous sun damage and just decided one day theyd all like to pop up at the same time, i guess. I have tried pretty much every dark spot corrector and skin lightener there is. I have spent tons of money. The sad fact is, that none of them produce permenent results. Results vary due to severity of the dark spots, but for me none really work too well at all, if at all. Even microdermabrasion by a doctor or dermatologist isn't always effective. I hate it, but I've come to accept it now after I've spent so much money trying everything I could find. The other bad thing is that when summer time is here, not even the best sunscreen on the market protects the spots - they get darker and darker no matter how much sunscreen or sun block I use. I love the sun, I love the beach, so you can see how this is a problem. I always wish that my whole face would get covered with the spots so that it would be more even instead of patches and spots! The only "cure" is prevention, so wear sunscreen!! Prevent the nasty spots and patches as much as possible. If you're here though, you obviously need a dark spot corrector or lightener. This one didn't work out well for me and personally I like to stay away from hydroquinone products after all the research I've done. It's not the safest ingredient and I've learned from previous experience that my spots come back with a vengeance after using hydroquinone products and get even darker. That being said, I'll try anything once, and decided to try this one of course. It is a thin serum that takes a bit of working in til it dries. It does pill, or rub off in little bits/pieces. It didn't irritate my skin, but it also did not help it. Everyone will have different results, so it may work for someone else better than it worked for me.Two products that I have found to work the best for me are Never a Dull Moment cleanser by Origins and Repairwear Laser Focus (serum) by Clinique. It gives results I can see and makes my skin look better overall. Ironically, they're some of the least expensive products I've ever used for my lovely spots. A hefty price tag does not mean something is better or that it will work at all. Keep that in mind when you're looking at these types of products.

Works, wish it was cheaper tho!
I have been using this for the past two years only when I get pimples because I scar badly but it doesn't take more than 2-3 before I start getting results. I am black and honestly didn't think it would work for ppl with more melanin but it proved me wrong. For the most part, I believe everyone should remember what works for me, may not for you.

Don’t waste your money on this product!!
I followed the directions on the bottle for over three months. I used it faithfully day and night. The dark spots didn’t get lighter. Save your $50 don’t make the same mistake I made.

Worth the $$$
The reviews we read prior to purchasing this serum were pretty 50/50 but this definitely worked for my teen who had the dark scars from uncontrollable acne. Worth the purchase price for sure

Haven't seen much of a difference after use. Maybe just doesn't work for everyone. Dark spots were recent too havent had them for years or anything so its not like i was expecting a miracle.

Sun spot treatment
I didn't notice a difference. I think it helped keep new sun spots away though.
