Whiskers Laces Nylon/Poly Weave Striped Shoelaces for Men's Dress Shoes with Metal Tips

As expected...

I have to admit, I wasn’t planning to pay this much for shoelaces but I was looking for something fun to replace the from the factory laces that came with my Cole Haans. These definitely fit the bill. When I first opened the box and saw the wooden spool I thought, they probably could have shaved a few bucks off and I would have been happy without that. I also thought I only got one lacey but after inspecting found it was two laces. Whew! The metal aglets are perfect. Gives the end a little weight to make tying a breeze. I’ve seen others complaining about the thickness of the and honestly it’s for a dress shoe so I think it’s just fine. Will definitely purchase another set for other dress shoes.

The color choices are great and they look nice. But the aglets are metal and heavy so you must double knot them or the weight of the aglets will quickly pull the knot untied.

I almost ordered three sets and I am glad I did not. I went to put these in a pair of Johnston and Murphy shoes and the laces will not fit into the eyelets. There was no problem with them fitting in Cole Hann eyelets. Had to give 4 stars because of the lack of fitting and would have bought two more sets if they would have fit in The other shoes.

I did the fun sock thing so I wanted to take my shoe game to the next level. This laces are very cool and come in various colors. The thickness is perfect for my Cole Haan Zerogrand wing oxfords. The blue and light blue Whiskers shoelaces look great in combination with the British Tan color. I will be buying some of the other colors as well.

The shoes I use these on are the Polo canvass type dress shoes but they need more substance. I'm almost afraid to pull too tightly for fear of snapping them

2 major flaws.1) the aglets are large. The diameter of the aglet is too large to fit through the eyelets on some dress shoes.2) considering the problem listed above, the strings are quite the opposite. I find they are too thin and have zero structure. They flop around like a cheap athletic shoelace.The laces look great and seem strong but they definitely need something to give them some structure so they are not so sloppy looking. Maybe waxing them would help.

Was a bit nervous reading some other reviews but these have been great. Look great, tie nicely. My main concern was whether they would stay tied but they have performed flawlessly. They are definitely a bit pricey but the look and quality make it worth it.
