Phone doesn’t keep charge and the usage timeframe gets shorter and shorter daily.
Initially , I liked this phone. I purchased it because it has low SARs rating…less RF going into body.I was replacing a perfectly functioning newer phone that has high SARs ratings and high RF, to lower my exposure to radio frequency emissions. It only came with one phone and charger so I use the phone off the base unit until it needs charging. It does not keep the charge when not in its cradle anywhere near what the instruction booklet says. I usually charge it overnight. Recently , it is not holding the charge and I have less usable time . Now it is barely keeping the charge at all and I get maybe a few hours per day to use it.I am guessing that the fact that the phone doesn’t hold a charge and doesn’t recharge adequately is probably why the original owner got rid of it. The new battery included didn’t change its ability to function as it is supposed to according to the manual.I purchased it mid June and the return window closed 30 days later , mid July. It is mid August and the phone is almost not usable as it cuts my calls off because the charge is gone. I paid for this in US dollars from Canada and am now out of pocket $192.00 for 8 weeks of usage. What a rip-off. I suggest you stay away from this vendor through Amazon.com, for older electronics….no guarantees and short window for returns if there is a problem.

Don't recall
Wow, I bought this so long ago I don't even recall my opinion. But I know this: I don't have it any longer and that tells me it didn't last very long or give me the service I would have preferred.

Unwieldy user interface
I was not happy with this phone and returned it. I found the answering machine to be very clumsy. After listening to messages, I would push erase, and the machine would say, "Press erase to blah, blah, blah." I would press erase again, and it would say something similiar. I had to press erase three times just to erase messages. At my house, I lose electricity often due to thunderstorms, and resetting the clock on this thing was very obscure. I had to use the manual every time as you must reset the clock from the handset. The keystrokes were impossible to know without the manual, and the machine did not have a built in guide like many do. The phone quality itself was nothing impressive. Static, with an unusual timber to the person's voice that made it sound pinched. I have never had a Panasonic product that satisfied me, and was once again reminded of why I have bought nothing of theirs in over a decade.

Bad voice quality...
This phone has the typical Panasonic characteristics: good looking, solid feeling, feature rich, and good worksmanship. However, this model uses digital transmission, probably a ADPCM-based digital vocoder, so voice will "clip" and fade in and out from time to time when it is hit with radio interference. Also, it takes a few seconds for the ADPCM vocoder to "adapt" to the radio interference to adjust modulation, which is to clear up voice. It's pretty irritating when part of your voice is chopped... On a good note, the answering machine works great and sounds very clear. One last thing, Panasonic removed "rapid charge" feature from the 2002 product line up, so it will take 15-17 hours to charge up a battery that lasts 5 hours.

Rugged, well-designed cordless phone.
We bought a Panasonic KX-TC1450B cordless phone for a busy construction site office over a year ago. This phone has had heavy use by many people every day since. I frequently use it for up to an hour a day.WHY DID WE BUY THIS MODEL?Almost luck of the draw. It was a Panasonic, which is a reasonable name, and the picture on the box showed a professional looking phone. But I was in a hurry, and could just as easily have picked up another brand.EASY TO SET UP?Certainly. I took this out of the box, plugged the transformer into a wall socket, plugged the phone cable into the socket in the base unit, plopped the phone unit into the base unit, and left it alone for 10 minutes before making my first call. Dead easy. There is a manual, but I've no idea what it says. I only read manuals when I cannot get something to work, and believe that consumer goods should be intuitive to use. I ignore manuals at my risk!FEATURESThis phone is laden with features, including backlit number keys, intercom, a speakerphone feature that is good for conference calls, ringer and speaker volume settings, a REDIAL button, and programmable keys, a phone-beeper on the base unit, to help find a lost phone. Recharging light. Even a jack on the phone unit for headphones.EASE OF USE?Easy and intuitive. Pick it up, press TALK, then dial. The phone is comfortable in my hand, and has a nice heft to it.I particularly like the way that the keys light up from behind. This is a useful feature for a crowded site office, because I can dial outside in the dark, getting away from noisy co-workers.I use the REDIAL button frequently because our satellite phone system does not always connect first time. A great feature!LENGTH OF CHARGE?I'm not sure, because this phone is used by so many people, but the charge lasts for ages. We generally keep the phone off the base, to prolong the battery life, and only charge it when it starts to beep and the recharge light comes on. We're still on the original battery pack.DURABILITYThe phone has a tough black plastic casing that is lasting very well. It has been dropped by me at least twice, and probably by others too. The keys are very durable, with no label wear yet.CLARITY AND RANGEThis phone is as clear as any office phone that I've used. I've not tested the range extremes, but have often used it up to 50 m from base with no loss of reception.RATING:In conclusion, I am delighted with this phone. It is well designed and well made, and is easy to use, even in the dark. When my old Sony home phone dies, I will very likely buy one of these to replace it. I have no hesitation in rating it as excellent, a number 5.

How to intoxicate all of your friends.
This phone has the ability, when more than a few messages are left, to make everyone sound like they are calling from the last day of a three day binge on spring break. Really! I dont know how it does this when it is tapeless, perhaps its some sort of plot to make us question our sanity. not a great phone!!

...
... This fine phone is all digital, not analog. Sound quality is good. Excellent range. Impressive variety of features. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the price is merely a good price, not a great one.Hard to go wrong with this phone.
