This fits my Canon HF-S21s well and is made sturdier than I thought it might be. Even zoomed all the way out, I don't pick any of the hood up in the lens. It does seem to be rejecting off-axis light, too, for purer images. I was careful not to cross-thread it onto the camcorder, then locked it down tight with the tightening ring. Overall, I could be happier with it. Glad I bought one for each of my HF-S21s. Highly recommended.

First off this lens hood will fit any lens with 58mm filter threads, regardless of all the models listed in the title. The lens hood is slightly rectangular. It measures 3 3/16 by 2 13/16. My lens accepts 49mm filters, so I also bought a 49mm to 58mm adapter from Amazon. I'm very pleased with the quality of the hood and the professional appearance it brings to my camera. The lens hood also functions very well to limit lens flares.

We got a 37 mm lens hood just like this for our Canon Vixia at work, so when I got my Canon Vixia HFS200, I ordered the 58mm size for myself. The lens hood is made of sturdy plastic with an adjusting ring on it. The hood screws into the filter ring on the front of the lens. There is a tensioning ring that can be used to tighten the fit in cases (like mine) where tightening the hood just right results in an off square lens hood. So I just screw the hood on until it starts to grow snug, align the hood the way I want, it and then tighten the tensioning rign. The inside surface of the hoodis coated with a very flat black coloring, so that no glare can bounce off onto the subject being filmed. Comes with a dust cover and a "don't lose it" thread connector. The hood does make the camera appear more sophisticated and professional.

does not work at all with the XA10. It screws on, after you remove the glass lens cover that protects the lens itself, but then if you are zoomed out you can see the entire edge of the hood the entire way around.

Its a lens hood, fits well and does its job on the Canon HF-S100. Not much to say, aesthetically, it gives the camera a more professional appearance, and functionally it helps reduce lens flare and results in slightly better contrast for the video. The included cap is nice, I like something other then the "eyelids" to protect the lens of my HF-S100.
