Iams Premium Protection Adult Dry Dog Food 24.5 Pounds

We decided to give this a shot because Amazon had a really great deal on it. We typically go with grain free fancy pants super expensive organic food, but we needed to find something less expensive, and this looks like it may help with her stiff joints. We do give her cooked plain meat daily as well for full disclosure. We add a cup of cooked ground meat daily.I’ll be honest, our dog isn’t too picky. She will turn her nose up at a few things like carrots and green beans (she will, in fact, eat around these, no matter how small I cut them), but in general dog food has enough flavor for her. This is no exception, it has pooch appeal. She ate it readily and it has to be rationed or she will eat it until she can’t walk. She hasn’t been eating it long enough to notice any positives in her joints just yet, but we ran out of our other food and had to transition her quickly, and she adjusted to this without any stool or appetite changes, so that’s reassuring about the quality.This came in two days with Prime and at this price I will be ordering more in the hopes it will help her mobility. Neither my cats or dogs prefer Iams brand, but some Iams varieties are good nutritional choices. Iams Naturals is far superior to regular Iams, but when it comes to an individual animal's dietary needs, this has everything my older dog needs to maintain health. Senior food doesn't just have fewer calories to prevent weight gain, but it has less fat in general which helps reduce chances of pancreatitis and other diet related illness in older animals.

Our American Staffordshire Terrier loves this food! She is a healthy & happy 10-year old dog with some age & injury related joint issues. We have been feeding her only this particular dog food for a few years & she has minimal problems due to those issues.

Dogs love it and that's the most important thing. I personally have stopped checking every label and deciphering every little ingredient. If others want to pay for Blue B, go ahead, I'm done and will just get some regular food. Not the worst, not the absolute best, but certainly decent. :)

I love this product for my dog, and was thrilled when I could save money by buying it on Amazon, and it was prime. However it is time to order it again, and now the price has been jacked up and is no longer Prime, even though the same dog food for regular adult dogs still has a good price and is Prime. For this I have lowered the rating to 2 stars and will go back to buying from the store across the street.

Ordered the Iams dog food for my lab. So far he does not seem to like it that much vs the Science Diet food he used to eat earlier. But we had our previous dog on the Iams Senior food and he loved it. Bag arrived dry and was not ripped. Saved a trip to the pet store.

My Boston has always had food issues from skin inflammation to gassy. When he was young I tried many different brands from high dollar hypoallergenic food by prescription only IAMS Premium Protection for Mature dogs has been great. Another bonus is he has never been fat on this food and we are not exactly active. More laid back couch potatoes. He is lean and looks like a young guy although he is now 9. He has been on it since he was 4. Of course when he was younger I got the premium protection that fit his age. Make sure to Get Premium Protection as IAMS has similar food but it isnt as good as this one! If you want your dog healthy and lean this is the food.

Our dogs love it! The kibble size is smaller than their older food, which makes our smaller dog (24lbs) happier. They eat their food quicker and seem to have a better coat and more energy.

Excellent food. Too bad it is so hard to find.
