Dissappointed
Purchased this on a recommendation from a computer geek friend mainly for our family lock-down quiz as the ipad not really big enough. It's a bit too basic for our requirements. Would have been ideal for our teenagers as a first Lap Top but not for us. We needed a lot more quality. Volume even on highest setting not loud enough or even as loud as the ipad or phones. Neither is the picture as sharp as the ipad or our phones. Don't know about the battery life as we've not had it long enough and usually use plugged in. Our last Lap Top is nearly 15 years old and even that had better picture and volume disappointing expected better in this day and age.

Disappointing.
I can only reiterate what a previous reviewer highlighted regarding the sound and picture quality on this machine. The volume level, even on maximum, is ridiculously low. In addition, the screen colours look really washed out. My seven year old cheapo Compaq laptop is far superior in both departments. I've been into the settings, made various adjustments and updated the drivers, but with no improvement. And don't get me started on the battery - but I will anyway! It doesn't last long. A couple of hours at most. When I connected back to the mains, the battery wouldn't recharge. I was going to return it as faulty, but decided to reset the laptop back to factory default. Amazingly, this has cured the battery not recharging problem - for now. Still terribly short life though. I will be closely monitoring this situation regarding the battery not recharging. If it happens again, it's going back. Not gonna be having to do factory resets every time the battery plays up.On a more positive note, this Lenovo is one of the few laptops being made these days with a built-in CD/DVD drive. This was very important to me and was instrumental in my decision to buy it. Also, the wi-fi is dual band so I am now finally able to get the full fibre speed I'm paying my broadband supplier for!Overall though, the poor sound and picture quality plus problems with the battery means I cannot recommend this laptop. In fact it's still possible I may have to return it.Update...I spoke too soon regarding the wi-fi. It's now starting to intermittently not recognise my wi-fi so therefore no internet connection (whilst at the exact same time a couple of other devices I own have no problem doing so). Also, the power cable on this Lenovo is both too flimsy and short. I've subsequently downgraded my overall rating from two to one star. Prospective buyers might wish to look elsewhere.

A few pros but lots of cons
This laptop has crashed twice in the short two months that I've had it. The keyboard is a problem for me. Aside from the fact that the lettering is already wearing off, unless you have tiny hands or don't intend to type that much, or at speed, the keyboard is awkward. Whoever designed it obviously likes to use only the touchpad to navigate, because the rest of the keyboard is squashed up into the top half of the base. I use a mouse only with the laptop for business, and it requires a TON of typing. My typing speed has been cut right down because the keys are so fiddly, and although most of them are a normal size, the page up/down keys, which also double as the cursor up and down, are half-size. If you have big fingers - keep shopping! That said, the keys are quite quiet. The F keys are fixed in terms of their function, and i cannot change them, even though i needed them to have different functions for my work. Help sites have not been able to resolve this. The laptop arrived in June, with a one-year warranty that supposedly started last December, therefore it has, in effect, a six-month warranty, and I cannot find where to get this sorted. Any Lenovo options for submitting feedback or questions go into a black hole, it seems. On the upside it was cheaper than other laptops with the same features, but i would strongly recommend that a life-size picture of the keyboard be made available in future for laptops in general, sold online. There are also few ports, so for the first time ever I have had to use a USB hub with my laptop. On the upside, it has a DVD drive if that's useful for you.It seems quite fast, which is good, but as I said, has crashed twice already, both times requiring IT support, so it didn't sort itself out just by rebooting. Replacing a laptop is a nightmare when you've gone through the whole process of reinstalling everything, reconfiguring, etc. , so I've persevered. I paid for IT support (a physical person) to come and ensure the switchover from my last laptop was done correctly, so I have no doubts about any issues that arose there. But right now this laptop is on thin ice with me. I doubt I will buy a Lenovo again.

Decent
Decent laptop and has a dvd drive plus a 512 gb ssd drive. Not bad for the price. I am used to a personal computer that was built for gaming so i have been spoiled. For the money its a good laptop but the battery is terrible but for all i know all laptops are. I use it for web browsing and ripping music and for that it is great. The display is adequate though nothing special.. I do not regret buying this laptop

It isa very attractive looking product
I have only had the machine for two days, so far too early to comment on overall performance, but the product is very attractive. I found it easy to set up although I am still struggling with aspects of windows 10, which is new to me. I am very pleased that I selected this model.

Great price for a decent laptop
I'd have given this laptop 5 stars had it not been for the Microsoft setup!! It didn't seem to like any of the email addresses I wanted to use - finally found my business one was acceptable! I'd have been happier too if only the Windows 10 operating system had been installed rather than trial versions of Office and McAfee. Other than that the laptop is fast, lightweight and suitable for my requirements.
