Samsung DVD-E360 Multi-Region Free DVD Player with USB, PAL/NTSC

I usually hate ... I mean ... HATE ... Samsung products. I bought a fridge-freezer from them a few years ago that was nothing but trouble, and blew up after only 5 years. But when people said in the reviews that you could just plug it in and play both your US and your UK DVDs, then I was willing to try it, since most others claimed to be "all-region" which isn't the same thing as being able to play UK DVDs.We moved from the UK to the US earlier this year and came with 100s of UK DVDs. We tried reprogramming a DVD player that a relative gave us, and it sort of worked, but the DVD player was on the fritz in a general way already.Now we have this one and are enjoying all our UK DVDs as well as our new US ones we buy. So, yes -- does the job exactly, without any hassle. Plug in and play.

I have played Region 1 and Region 2 DVDs without any problem. There is no setup necessary to play DVDs from different regions, the unit plays them immediately upon inserting the DVD. It is basic; if you stop in the middle of a DVD you have to find the chapter to resume or start from the beginning. But it is a good player. The remote is a bit confusing but not a big problem. It is a good buy for the money. Just insert any DVD and start watching.

I needed an all-region DVD player to play a set of Region 2 DVDs that I have, but didn't want to pay a lot of money since I needed it for a very specific and limited purpose. This player has worked extremely well for a good price, and even has the added bonus of playing CDs and transferring them to flash drive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

It's awesome. I'm able to watch (呪怨) Juuon the origin Japanese grudge movie not the American remake which like Britain is region code 2. On top of that it also plays music albums. I can watch Juuon and rock out to Linkin Park. It display photos too. The only thing that I don't like about it is the remote is tiny and more easy to loose. Its half the size of my old DVD remote play. But if you don't mind a tiny remote this DVD player is perfect. I don't regret the $50 I spent on it.

I purchased this based on good reviews on Amazon, both for the product and for tech support. My experience of both was pretty awful.The box said "region-free" as did a label on the DVD player itself. I set up the player and inserted a Region 2 (Europe) disc. Got a message, "This disc cannot be played. Wrong region!"Called Samsung support. The support person I reached didn't know what a DVD player was (presumably a language issue). I found that rather shocking. Still hoping against hope that I could make this work, waited half a day and called Samsung support again. This time, after I gave the serial number, was told this player would NOT play Regions 1, 2 or 6--in effect, not DVDs marketed for U.S. or Canada, or Europe or Middle East, or China. I said "It's supposed to be region-free. Can you explain this?" The tech support person blamed the manufacturer (which did not make sense to me) then told me to return it to Amazon, which I am in the process of doing. Would have preferred not to have my time wasted this way; hope this review can spare others similar inconvenience.

This does Play Region 2 DVDs, which was my end goal. However, the system seems rather archaic to me. It is not easy to utilize what should be simple features like fast forward. I have also not had success in trying to connect any USB product to the machine. In addition, when I tried using the MP3 feature, it does not appear to restart where I stopped listening, but rather starts back at the beginning -- not a good feature when one is trying to listen to books.I would not recommend this player.

I have an older, twelve inch screen television set with jacks for audio/visual cables. I connected the color-coded DVD player cables to the jacks on my television set and turned on both machines. The DVD from region 2 played beautifully, as did a DVD from region 1. The remote is easy to operate, as well. Nice to find equipment that is compatible with older television models.

If you live in the U.S. it is frustrating to see a BBC program and realize you can't find it anywhere online and you can't locate a producer of a DVD that plays in U.S. DVD players. However, this Samsung region free DVD player plays them all. The controls are easy, the DVD player is small and easy to use. This DVD player changed my life.
