A lot of action and excitement.!
Good movie, a little odd plot, but very entertaining,. The quality of the disc (DVD) was good, it played very well in my computer, that's where I watch all my movies, good sound,. I have this 1 to 10 rating I give to my movies after I watch them, I write the score and tape it inside the case, that way I know if I want to watch it again any time soon, this one is an 8, so I will be watching again,. The movie is under 2 hours, I like that also.

Gore Fest
This is simply a gore fest. I like a good scary movie but I'm not sure who the intended audience for this movie is. The plot (such as it is) doesn't make much sense - supposedly the military is behind the "monsters" but why is never made clear in any way. It has a few tense moments and likable enough characters due to the ability of the actors rather than any character development in the story line but that's about it. If you like B movies, you may enjoy this one. If you"re looking for something with a plot that develops and holds together with logical progression from beginning to end, this isn't the movie for you. I've watched worse, but was hoping for something (story-wise) a bit better than this turned out to be.

Feast is no classic but its a sufficiently fun monster horror comedy
One of the better films created by reality tv show Project Greenlight, Feast is no classic but its a sufficiently fun monster horror comedy with over the top gags, blood and gore. Its sense of black humor and self awareness is also commendable and the constant use of shaky cam and stuttery editing does heighten a sense of manic urgency but can be somewhat disorienting.Blu-ray Features(1 disc)★★☆☆☆Dimension Extreme unrated edition.A Small Feast of Outtakes (3min) - Short collection of outtakesBlood on the Cutting Room Floor (7min) - Deleted scenesHorror Under the Spotlight: Making 'Feast' (11min) - Behind the scenes footage on both the making of the film and TV show. The Blood and Guts of Gary J. Hero: "Listen to me. A storm o'hell's coming down on this place any second..."
FEAST (2005) is a really terrifying bloodbath of a dark comedy, one that's a perfect Halloween season film. Frame for frame, it just may be the goriest, grossest picture ever made. The violence is unrelenting!I love this one's humorous touches, like freeze-framing on each character to put up a spoof bio on them. At the very start of the film, the hunky one identified as "HERO, LIFE EXPECTANCY: Pretty effin' good!" comes bursting into this rundown desert tavern and tells everyone present to prepare for an attack from flesh eating monsters. He shows them a trophy: this ghastly, alien-looking head with a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth. "Bartender" (Clu Gulager) asks, "Who the hell are you?" as Hero backs towards a window. "I'm the guy that's gonna save your ass!" he declares, back to the wall. A creature reaches through the open window, and our hero with a darn good life expectancy has his head bit right off. Arterial blood soaks the room as the headless corpse teeters on its feet then falls over. That's just the start of the fun!Obviously, this Wes Craven-produced movie is not for the squeamish or anyone wishing to avoid having frightful nightmares. For the rest of us scary picture fans, FEAST is exactly what its name implies: a smörgåsbord of mayhem that offers no logic or explanations and spares the lives of few of its participants. It's gut-level entertainment of the most basic sort: kill or be killed, and get the hell out if you can!

Clever And Fun But Goes A Bit Too Far Sometimes
I mostly like this movie, however there is a one very dark rape joke that is just too much me. The rest of the movie is not as bad as this one scene, and it is very clever and does a lot of things with the genre. I just don't like that one scene. If you have a tough stomach, and are a fan of monster movies you'll be fine and probably enjoy the movie.

Feast
FEAST does for the monster movie what SCREAM did for the Slasher by creating an entirely self-aware Horror movie that cleverly plays against each of the genre conventions in an insanely bloody and wildly entertaining gorefest! The film begins with the familiar NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD scenario, where a bar full of miscreants must board up the windows and lock the doors to avoid being eaten by a pack of ravenous creatures. From here, Project Greenlight winner John Gulager drowns the picture in gruesome splatter and injects it with the sharp humor provided by the writing team of Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. When the bar patrons aren't having their limbs torn off or their guts wrenched from their torsos, they are being blasted with fountains of blood, bile, or worse. FEAST had the potential to become an instant classic, but unfortunately it never manages to break free from its cheap B-movie roots. Though the characters are extreme exaggerations of Horror movie stereotypes, they are also completely one-sided and rarely intelligent. After an incredible opening, the meandering plot fails to achieve the same level of excitement and intensity of the first act. Still, there are many brilliant moments found throughout the film that are as shocking as they are unexpected. FEAST sets the table with plenty of laughs, buckets of blood, and gooey gross-outs, quickly making it a cult-favorite amongst fans.-Carl ManesI Like Horror Movies

“I don’t know what they are… I don’t know where they came from….” [Hero –opening warning]
In this 2005 survivor style horror a number of customers get trapped inside a roadside bar by vicious sex craving creatures. The question is, will any survive? The opening intro which gives a short Bio to each character is both informative but also annoying and could have been incorporated more into the story [lose a *]. Once the action starts there is a very good sense of panic as the survivors inadvertently cause more damage to themselves than the creatures [regain a *]. And many of the comments, logic and reactions are actually seem quite typical of what many would do and say.The single disc opens to three trailers before offering play, select scene, special features [making of, the blood & guts, Blood on the cutting room floor, out-takes, theatrical trailer] and set-up [5.1 or stereo]. Rated 18 this contains scenes with sexual content, profanity [including F, C & P words] and lots of squirty blood and gore. This may be tongue in cheek humour but it does have a few jumpy moments and some gross out scenes so it’s not for the squeamish, or there again that’s exactly who it ‘s for! Not a classic, but much under-rated and there are two sequels :o)

The Gulager family give us monsters in a bar.
Rednecks, cowboys and fairly unlikable dregs are holed up in their local dive bar when they are warned that a series of monsters have invaded their town and are headed right for the bar. Cue insane madness, where our patrons now must fight and think tactially to survive the night as the monsters loom ever closer.John Gulager directs, yes the son of Clu- and Clu is here as the badass cowboy bartender. There are a host of characters we are introduced to but not one comes across with any depth, but they do fester lots of anger. Gulager makes the mistake of shooting the violent scenes like a music video, probably hoping to avoid an adult certificate- it didn't work. And the final quarter of an hour is shot in mostly darkness, something you're kinda praying won't happen throughout the movie. It's a fun fast paced movie that delivers everything it has in 83 short minutes. The comedic moments are left to a minimum, but there are still some unnessasary scenes- we really didn't have to see the monsters making love, please! The script is wobbly- but all in all Feast is fun. But a year later the movie would be relegated to a different league when Frank Darabont gave us The Mist and showed us exactly how a monster movie should be dealt with, with pretty much the foundations of the same plot.

Another hunger strike
A cast of colourful caricatures are draped around a grubby American bar one night, when they are suddenly attacked by a gang of monsters, dressed in what appears to be Lady Gaga's meat dress! And as the patrons of the bar are besieged, it soon becomes clear that the monsters have only two objectives: to eat the cast and spawn more of their kind...This had been talked about and recommended to me several times, so I thought I'd give it a viewing. And by and large I liked what I saw. The characters are okay with plenty of them biting the dust, as the monsters attack the pub they're sat in, like whirling dervishes. The film is fast paced and has a lot of energy and coming in at a little over 80 minutes, it just about gets away with it's running time....just! There's plenty of gore to be had, but one of the biggest downsides to this is the frenzied camera work, which doesn't dwell on the anything more than a nano~second before zooming off somewhere else. Resulting in confused action, which gets rather irritating quite quickly. Feast doesn't take itself seriously one iota and fright fans looking for any kind of actual scares or chilling horror might want to bear this in mind before proceeding. The humour is largely puerile but in fairness fits the movie like a surgical glove.Overall, Feast is a flashy, noisy, gory fan~horror that although may not be a classic, is certainly fun. Recommended for people who liked Maximum Overdrive [DVD ], From Dusk Till Dawn [Blu-ray ] and Planet Terror [Blu-ray ], amongst others..The UK bluray has the kind of print you would expect for a new movie, but with a chronic lack of any extras whatsoever!!3.75/5 for what it is, rounded up to four. Although if you greatly like the style of movies I mentioned, feel free to add an extra star. Maximum Overdrive [DVDFrom Dusk Till Dawn [Blu-rayPlanet Terror [Blu-ray

Thrills and spills
This film is surely what the words 'an enjoyable romp' were intended for. I only heard of Feast thanks to Amazon, else I might never have sampled the shameless, gory delights it had to offer.Feast, admittedly, has borrowed heavily from the equally tongue-in-cheek Tremors; the fundamental difference are the creatures. Still, don't let that put you off, it's as good as if not better than the latter. Now, the intro was an absolute cracker and wonderfully stylised; very similiar to Zombieland's 'rules' but basically a device to introduce each character, a brief biog and chances of survival. Brilliant, just brilliant. No needless 'build-up' just straight into the action. Around the 15/2o minute mark is when it all kicks-off and from then on it's man-eating creatures versus barricaded-in-a-bar redneck types in the middle of Nevada (or whathaveyou). That is literally all there is to the film. Heck, what more do you want; Casablanca? Another great thing about the flick is the deaths of the most unlikely candidates which nicely turns the conventional on its head. Despite its small budget it does well with the SFX although the only bug-bear is there are a couple of blink-and-you-miss-it scenes due to the speed of the creatures.Other than that minor gripe, a quality no-frills horror that would be perfect for a lads' night in with beers and munchies.Buon appetito!

Bloody good fun
A bar filled with an ill assorted group of customers comes under attack from a family of flesh eating monsters. Well thats it plot wise, but that means that the film is a non stop exercise in munching monster madness and that can only be a good thing in my opinion. Its also very funny, each character gets a character profile at the beginning of the film, including life expectancy levels. For example the character labelled Hero runs into the bar at the beginning of the film, tells the bar customers he's going to save them from the monsters and promptly gets his head ripped off. My favourite characters are salesman Coach(played by Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins) who keeps giving interminable motivational speeches on combating monster attacks, and Grandma(Eileen Ryan) who sits nonchalantly at her favourite bar stool as the carnage goes on all around her.Theres also some great dialogue between the charcters as they become more desperate to escape. Its nice to see director John Gulager giving his father Clu a nice meaty role as well.A highly enjoyable film. 4 out of 5
