Slight problem pairing with FireTV initially but works fine once connected
I bought this to work with the new FireTV I bought just a month ago. The reviews are mixed on whether it'd work with the new FireTV. But I decided to try it out mainly because of the reasonable sale price and that it is USB re-chargeable. I do not want to be throwing away battery money. And I figured if I can't get it to work with FireTV I could use it with other devices I have.I am glad to say that I did get it to pair with my FireTV (Fire OS 5.0.5)! It wasn't the easiest to connect initially. I figured out that I had to 1) on fireTV choose Bluetooth device as the pairing option under Settings and then 2) make sure to use put the controller itself into the "keyboard input" pairing mode. That is holding the Mode button + A button. I had to try two or three times before fireTV picked it up.I don't know if this mattered but I did make sure my controller was charged before trying to connect. Because I had experienced pairing issues like that with other bluetooth device.Once it's paired and connected, the controller stays connected with active use. Temporary disuse doesn't affect the connection. It was only after I left it for maybe 10+ minutes that it disconnected itself. Like with other Bluethooth devices I have paired with the FireTV, re-connecting is sometimes glitchy. Most of the times, I can just hold the Mode + A button and FireTV would connect it immediately. A few times I had to navigate to the Settings menu and connect or find the device again. But this isn't limited to using this controller. So I'm not faulting it for this. In any case, this doesn't happen often enough to bother me.The controller is quite easy to use and feels nice to hold. It does the job for me as I'm not playing any complex FPS or RPG games with it.I also tried pairing and using it with my Mac (OS X) and iphone 6. Both paired quickly and worked just fine with the games supporting the controller.

I got it working for my FIRE TV!!!!
Okay. I just got this in yesterday. I rolled the dice and purchased it to work with my Fire TV. I saw some people say it didnt work with it, others that it did. So it came in yesterday afternoon. I immediately unpacked it and plugged it into my laptops USB to charge and I tried to pair it right away under "Other Bluetooth Devices" like ive read in several posts. But it did nothing. There are really not much of any instructions. The Fire TV actually saw the device 2 back to back times after about 30min, but it would not connect. And then on I tried for hours without it even detecting. I was so frustrated. Was sure I was going to have eat the money and buy a way more expensive Fire TV gaming remote. But I decided to let it charge alnight, one reviewer said they had a full charge on theirs when it worked for them. So I woke this morning, full charge and went to "Other Bluetooth Devices" and i hit the A+Mode to pair it as a "Keyboard&Mouse" mode and it detected it STRAIGHT away. I almost got so excited that i almost dropped all my controllers trying to hit it lol. And then the gamepad rumbled and it was connected. But because it was in keypad and mouse mode, nothing worked on gamepad. Right joystick moved the cursor on some things, thats it. So I went to try and pair it up again, and it wasnt showing in devices found. So this time i went to Game controllers. and under that tried to pair it. and it did, but i did it under "Mouse & Keyboard" again and still nothing worked. But it still had gamepad listed in recognized devices. so i just hit the settings button on firetv remote and unpaired the gamepad. This time I did it again, but i hit the "X+Mode" combination for "Gamepad" mode and it rumbled and went right to work. It works flawlessly. The controller has a nice feel to it. Like most other gamepads feel. I am no expert on gamepads anymore. I dont play console games anymore, only PC. But it doesnt feel bad. Just got it working, so no idea how long a charge it holds. But everything seems to be working very smoothly for the most part. I am very glad i decided to let charge fully. I believe thats the key. Once i tried it with full charge. It right away recognized the controller. And It's so much cheaper than the main Fire TV remote and no batteries required. If ya want to save some money, and have someone who wants to play the games on Fire TV. I totally recommend this gamepad. I only took 1 Star off, because it was such a pain for me to pair with Fire TV, but i believe the full charge is the key there. Good luck and just ask if ya have any questions. Enjoy!!!

Great review for Gear VR, s8 and s8 plus
This review is for anyone wanting a quality, cost effective and well working gamepad to use with their Gear VR. I can only relay information with regard to the Samsung Galaxy s8 and s8 plus. I was skeptical on the original purchase because this product only has a 3 ½ star rating. I imagine that many people purchase it because of the price. There are many bad reviews when people have tried using this gamepad with Fire TV and the PS3 but most of the reviews I read when it has been used with the Gear VR were good and this is what prompted me to purchase it to try with my own. I have two of the Game VRs. When I realized immediately that the gamepad was working well, with every App I have that is compatible with a gamepad that I own, I purchased a second one and had a great family night with the kids playing different Apps using both of my VRs.Note: Always check an App for how it can be controlled before purchasing one to use with a controller. This does not mean that the gamepad will not work with other Apps that do not state they are compatible with a gamepad but it should make sense that it may not work well or at all with one that does not specify the fact. Its works with the Gear VR menu as well. The experience when using a gamepad versus the small single handheld controller that comes with this year’s version of the Gear VR is like night and day. If you are a major gamer you will always be able to find an issue with any item you purchase for gaming. For example, nonprogrammable buttons, buttons assignments, analog versus digital, battery life (because extreme gamers play too long) and so on. If you are not that picky and do not live inside video games then this is a perfect gamepad. We played for two hours and the batteries were still going strong. To sum it all up this gamepad works well with the platforms I have mentioned above (Gear VR, Samsung Galaxy s8 and s8 plus).
