Revolutionary features and crisp android performance...for under 400$
Google nailed tailed this one. Expectations where high in light of the popular Nexus 5 and they delivered. I'm not going to give you a multi-page analysis on the gritty details - for that you can go read a professional write up. What I am going to do is give a run-down of what makes the Nexus 5X so awesome, and then in light of that, what few aspects of it may be looked at as cons for some. -First off the Nexus 5X runs Marshmallow (6.0)- the newest android OS with effortless fluidity and precision. -The 12.3 megapixel camera (no, megapixels are not the only thing you judge a camera by) is the best camera on any phone (yes that includes any current iPhone), besides the Galaxy S6 and Note5. It is particularly impressive in low-light settings with its larger 1.55 ยตm pixels. -The fingerprint sensor on the back is not only innovative, but completely practical and insanely fast, as well as being totally glitch proof. It works every time. It also provides just a cool sense of security in your hand- you have a point of reference for your finger in the back. -The 5.2 inch full HD display is perfect. Just the right size to use in one hand and still appreciate the beautiful HD experience. -Since it is a Google-made phone, you get any and all updates automatically and right away. -The phone will charges from dead 0 to 100% in half an hour. -The fully universal and reversible C-port charging cable puts Apple's "lighting charger" to absolute shame, and will soon take over the market. -The body of the phone is polycarbonate (but not cheap-feeling) material instead of metal, making it more flexible and less likely to break if dropped. -Google Now - The new Google search system built into the home button is incredibly useful. It also lets you activate a voice search with the words "Ok Google", even when you phone is off. -Double-tapping the power button will bring up the camera speedily. -Last but of course not least: the sub-400$ price-tag. -Oh, and the jade "Ice" color is really cool in my opinion.Possible cons: -The C-port charging cable is not USB compatible without a converter- so you can't charge it from most computers. This problem is simply fixed by just remembering to carry around your charger. C-port capability is also a thing of the future. It's only a matter of time before it completely takes over the place of the bulky and frustrating USB ports. -The non-poshness of "plastic" body. Apple enthusiasts users will make a big deal about this, even while they walk around with their shattered, BUT METAL iPhones. -No wireless charging capabilities. Would this be nice? Sure. But I'm not complaining when I can charge my phone in less than 30 minutes.Only real con: -2 GB of RAM. This is a small amount, and with no up-gradable options this is true negative and frustrating aspect. Yet if you get the 32 GB version (which I would recommend, the price jump isn't too much), you probably wont be too bothered by this unless you're an app-crazed and download fanatic.CONCLUSION:Google produced a killer new phone of the future with the fingerprint sensor, high-quality camera, and C-port charging features. The best part: It's a fraction of the price of expensive flagships like the iPhone 6 (Plus), or the Galaxy S6 or Note5. You wont regret picking up a sleek new Google Nexus 5X.

Googles Nexus series feel the best of any android phone I've used
After having several renditions of Samsung's Galaxy S# and later spending a year with a Moto X (which I managed to drop flat on its face and cause the screen to go black) I decided to take the plunge into the land of stock android. Looking back, I shouldn't have ever done anything else. Googles Nexus series feel the best of any android phone I've used, stock droid has a very convenient flow and blends many of Google's features seamlessly. The existence of bloatware or unwanted apps preinstalled is very slim, almost nonexistent when compared to Samsung's phones and even the Moto X which is sort of a hybrid of the two.I know I was late to the party with this phone, I purchased it just a few weeks before Google announced the new Pixel lineup. But I'm glad that I opted for this phone over the new Pixel. The Pixel looks like a marvelous spectacle of hardware, but I really just wanted a mid-line phone that ran stock android (which is much harder to find than you'd expect). The phone market is extremely saturated by now, and since they are volatile devices (both physically and technologically) I really wasn't keen on spending $600+ on the latest device every year.I hope this phone will last for two or three years and that when I do eventually update that a similar model will be available in the future. It does everything I want: Makes calls, has SMS, is unlocked, has a fairly decent camera/video recorder and runs stock android. Getting this phone setup on my phone provider (ATT) was as simple as moving the SIM card over (a tool to open the sim container is even provided in the box). The phone regularly gets updates from Google always keeping the device running the latest software. My only problem is that the actual hardware of the phone can be sluggish. Since this is a mid-level phone, it doesn't quite have the snappiness of the top level devices. There is some lag sometimes when opening several apps, or when trying to make too many inputs at once. It's really not a huge issue, though, and compared with the Moto X or many of the Samsung phones I've had the device is overall much more responsive. It may be a hard sell to buy this phone now, given that it is fairly old. But if you just want a "phone" as in a smartphone without a dozen extra gimmicks added, this should be the go-to. It does everything well and doesn't try to be anything beyond that. Plus, it's unlocked which saves several headaches for those wishing to travel abroad with their phone. Overall, I'm satisfied. It seems very simple to create a device like this, and I've always wondered why this sort of phone is not the norm.

It's Simply Phenomenal.
This is by far and away, the BEST Nexus device I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty. My repertoire, over the years, has included: one Nexus 4, three Nexus 5s, one Nexus 7, one Nexus 6 (probably the worst Nexus release yet), a Nexus 9, and now a Nexus 5X. To put it simply, this phone blows me away. It does everything right. It got the size right. It performs well. The camera is pretty excellent. There are so many things to love about this phone. I should not that this 5X replaced a Nexus 6, which was a massive disappointment. I was baffled by the mediocrity of the N6; it was supposed to be this flagship powerhouse, but all too often it stuttered, froze, didn't work properly, etcetera. Half the time was probably spent waiting for it to become usable again. I disliked that phone so much, that I actually went back to my Nexus 5 for a little while, before I bought this 5X.And boy, am I glad I went for it. If Google keeps this up, there will be no reason to buy any other phone. The fact that all of this astounding performance, PROPER size, and generous features are included at such an affordable price is genuinely phenomenal. One other thing, this is how big a phone should ACTUALLY be. It's bigger than the N5, but MUCH, MUCH more manageable than the N6. The ONLY complaints I have are that this year, we lost optical image stabilization, and wireless charging. But for a phone this good, I can live with that. Well done, Google. A truly superlative device. Thanks for resurrecting yourself after the dismal Nexus 6.
