MustHaveForCourtneyFans
As much as I wish this was a Courtney tell all kind of book it still satisfies. This autobiography of sorts perfectly captures the essence of Courtney. It is unorganized yet thoughtful and risque but still tasteful. Full of journal entries, song lyrics, poems, pictures and notes. Anyone who is either a fan or hater of Courtney Love or Hole can find something interesting and thought provoking in this book. Would definitely recommend to any Courtney Love fan♥️

I love this beautiful glimpse into Courtney's world
I love this beautiful glimpse into Courtney's world. The layout is beautiful. It's visually glamorous and grungy, like her. Its a must own, both as a fan of Courtney's and as a companion book to Kurt Cobain's Journals.

Not Exactly What I Was Looking For, But Still An Okay Read
Ever since finding out about Courtney Love (especially being a reader and all) I wanted a book about her. But, not one someone else wrote about her no matter how much they knew about her, but something that she wrote because no one knows Courtney Love better than herself (obviously, as that goes for everyone on Earth). So I bought this book. I also wanted to learn more about her besides Hole. I wanted to read (or find out) about her strange childhood with then-hippie, Linda Carroll, and her not-so-good relationship with her biological father, and former manager of the Grateful Dead, Hank Harrison. I also wanted to find out more about when she was at Hillcrest, her life during the time of "Sugar Babydoll/Sugar Babylon", and the Pagan Babies. I also wanted to hear more about her on/off relationship with Babes in Toyland front-woman, Kat Bjelland. However, I have never cared about Kurt Cobain, and I didn't even more so because I do not like Nirvana. The book does mention these things, but that's all it is, is mentioning. It's not like one whole chapter (it's not a chapter book, just like a scrapbook I guess) about the time when "Sugar Babydoll/Sugar Babylon" was going on. You barely even get an idea of how her childhood was like (I know what it was like through other resources, but I'm talking about this book, not what I know personally), or anything about Hillcrest. But it's kind of hard to even expect to hear about these things when this isn't actually a book. It's like a scrapbook kind of, that's full of writing, pictures, and letters--So basically, yes, a scrapbook. I have found that her handwriting is pretty hard to read. I mean, you can read it after you stare at a word for 20 minutes. However, even if this sounds weird, I could, over time, read it. I do think that this book does have some cracks that haven't been filled in. I don't exactly know how to explain this, but whatever. I guess what I mean, is that because of this book's scrapbook-like form, it does leave some things out. But, I guess it's kind of hard to get every-single-thing you wrote in your life so far, then take all of it, and put it in a book.Overall; I think this is an okay book. Looking through someone who feels the need to find out everything about someone's perspective, this does help fill in the blanks, in which those blanks are unanswered questions, or things we don't know. I can't say this book is an encyclopedia about Courtney Love, but it is helpful if you want to learn about her. So, if you want to learn about her, or are just curious, you should buy it--But don't buy it new when you can get a great deal used. I bought my copy for $1.59 from HPB-Outlet in hardcover. Anyways, it's a good book. If you come across it, you should get it.

Courtney is different& thats OK that makes her who she is
I purchased this book jus because i adore Courtney Love i know shes had some hard times & the media gave her over kill when she was greiving & purging internal pain not jus from kirk but from issues we pick up along the path of life from others~I think ppl was to hard on her~ If she was medicating w/drugs id probabaly done the same but i often think she was half way clean b4 she hooked up w/KC since the guys in her roster wasnt as kirk as the others you see it alot in the industry. The book is great because its not jus a read its one that has interesting graphics i put out on my coffee table as ive jus got it & for a real bargain & yet to check it out 100%.Im looking forward to it i think she is a very interesting person. Im looking forward to it as its not jus a read but a look at all the wonderful scribblings & pix along her journey/tour in life when i watched her las vh1 interveiw i thought this is the clarity of who she really is & so what if she smokes, cusses & is brutally honest {UHM who isnt} keeping it real as far as CL shows shes not afraid to put her ideals out there i like her frank & forward attitude her brilliance shines when shes at her best! Shes been thru hell & i hope shes lives a happy life w/daughter bean & continues to rock on i can relate to her song DOLL PARTS.I think celebrity skin was a msg to hollywood stereo types OH they loved her then tossed her.Yet there is a male actor in HW=CS who can constanly tear himself apart & they keep him working? We true fans will keep allegiance upon her merit in that msg in the song i love her & shes got new material{AMERICAN SWEETHEART}out so as long as shes a rocker & dont go Sid Vicious she will be fine.I loved her in the movie Sid & Nancy{I dont think her playing the role of nancy would have been a good idea w/all that was behind her w/KC}However there are still fans that love her style of music & she is still with us that love her.while id love to see her & have a converstation w/her or see her back on the silver screen shes got good in acting skills} I thought she done a great job in the Ppl vrs Larry Flynt}But shes a rocker chic & anything less than what shes good at isnt the chic that survived herself & the pain of what she had to over come made her comebacks strong & contributed to who the real CL is~I hope where ever shes at that love & life is kind to her she as her song said=Live thru this~DD

Total Waste of Money
Her handwriting was hard to read, which was irritating. But what pissed me off the most was, the "diary" entries were mostly free association and made no sense. I felt punked and ripped off buying this book. Save your money and give this one a hard pass!

Nice Gift
This was a gift for my daughter. She is a big fan of both Cobain and Love. The book is pretty with nice pictures and graphics. It is not a biography or regular book. It is filled with pictures, comments, opinions and diary entries.

Must have for Courtney fans
Beautifully designed. Not exactly diaries, but scraps of notes, song lyrics, photos. Gives you a different view on Courtney. Maybe if all the haters would read this they would stop hating.

Expected more
I'm a big Courtney Love fan so I really wanted this book but I expected more, a lot it is random things and I thought it would have more written parts from Courtney in it, there are some cool pictures and scrap notes, and it's a good item if you're a big fan of hers though.

Perfect
I love this book dearly, filled with rants and poems and intelligent thought this is perfect for any Courtney Love fan. It was interesting as a teenage girl to read some of her earlier entries. Carrie Fisher sharing her experiences with Courtney was also a nice surprise
