I recently saw an advertisement on tv for a similar type of tool. I decided to look on Amazon to see if I could find something similar,and sure enough there were many different brands to choose from. I chose this straightening brush because of other buyer feedback - it had a rating of four stars and most of the reviews had only great things to say.On the day the brush arrived, I opened it immediately. The directions said for use on clean, dry hair only. My hair was second day hair (I had washed it the previous morning) and I had put dry shampoo into my hair that day. I decided to plug in the brush and give it a quick go anyway, just to see if I could get a feel for how it might work. The brush took a bit of time to heat up as I set it on the highest heat setting. After it was hot, I ran it through my hair a couple of times. It tugged at my hair a bit and when I pulled the brush away, I noticed several broken hair strands in the bristles. I did a couple more passes on my hair and noticed the same thing happening.The following day I washed my hair before work, dried it, and decided to give the tool another try. After all, I would be able to test it on clean, dry hair this time. I will say that on clean hair, the brush passed through much easier, and I didn't notice any breakage this time around (or very minimal, anyway). The individual hairs on my head are medium thickness, and I have a TON of it. The front/ top of my hair is generally straight, but the underside and the back have a pretty significant wave. I thought this brush might help to lighten the wave to give my hair a more "uniform" look before work in the morning and was hopeful that it would take less time than a traditional straightener (and was also hopeful that it would cause less damage).The product definitely worked. Because of the amount of hair that I have, I had to separate my hair into sections as I do when I straighten or curl, but it definitely took less time (from start to finish, I probably saved about 5 minutes in styling time - when comparing this tool to a traditional straightener). This also didn't leave my hair "pin" straight - it left it with some nice body and volume and the ends had a very slight curl to them. In general I was pleased with the outcome of this tool.My one MAJOR complaint is that the power button and the temperature control buttons are right along the handle and are very sensitive. It was nearly impossible for me to hold the brush without hitting the buttons and either turning the iron off or changing the temperature. I finally figured out a way to hold it at the base of the paddle part (so that my hand wasn't on the handle or near the buttons), but did feel my hand getting hot and my fingers hit the bristles two times from holding it in this manner which burned.I would love to keep this item as I think it is a wonderful tool to use before work on mornings when you don't have time to fully style your hair. However, because I can't conceive of a way to hold this brush comfortably by the handle without clicking the buttons, I think I am going to have to return it. I'm going to look for a similar item with the buttons in a different place~

********Update********The company did a random email blast again asking for improvement ideas. I see they have a lot more negative reviews since my original purchase. I have dropped my rating down from a 3 to a 2 because of the company owner. I asked a few questions before my purchase and spoke with her (All Same Email and Same Amazon User ID) then I purchased and posted a review, then came more email blasts from the company and I have always responded. I expressed to them I have natural hair. I do not use any products at all in my hair. I will not start using them either to use this/any product.Honest:This product does heat up within a few minutes. It does straighten the next morning- clean hair that was air dried over night. (Owner says try to use this right after clean hair is ready/dried. Maybe that does yield better results?) It takes about 3-4 passes on each section off area of my hair. The only positive for using this brush is you do not get over heated as you do with a flat iron. (Room heat, your own heat) it also takes me roughly 25 mins to get 65% flat hair. Then it takes about 10 minutes using the flat iron. So, in total it's about 35 mins. Which is less than my 45-50 mins , very over heated flat iron way.So- I do like the brush but again not for 50 dollars. It does not do 70-80%.... it does roughly 65% and that's me being nice! Then the owner wants to hassle you appearing like they care and want follow ups. ITS A SCAM TO GET A FIVE STAR RATING!!!!!!!!******Original********For starters the owner of the company stands behind her product. I did not mean to offend by asking questions yet, I am a skeptic and do not use products in my hair(heat oil or anything). I was directed to watch a video of someone else doing a person's hair. Yep, if I had someone to do my hair as I sat.. I wouldn't need this.I have had Long, thick hair my whole life. I am a married mother of 3 and never do my hair anymore. These new brushes are very inviting yet, they are made by everyone for all prices.My hair goes past my hip line but above my underwear line (in need of a haircut!! It's never been this long before) THIS I'd why I'm such a skeptic. Nothing is easy with this long of thick hair!! I wanted to own one of these to do my hair more often and AS MUCH as an Amazon Prime Junkie I am, I know the reviews are influenced by a 'free trial' .. shoot if I didn't pay... anything okay- okay is good right?Now for my review who did pay 49.99, this brush is a large enough oval shaped brush to handle the combing of thick hair. I put it straight to the highest setting because my flat iron is best for my hair on high heat. BUT, high heat or not .. it's not being clamped between iron it's just heated bristles. So, not enough heat gets applied for my thick hair. Or it doesn't hit every strand of hair compared to a flat iron.Sectioning off?? Thought this was supposed to be easier and shave time? I did section it off but not with much effort (because I'd be better going the flat iron way with that much effort)You have to re train yourself. My ears did catch the bristles every know and then, but not horrible.The ends of my hair will not curve in even with multiple attempts to curl it all one way, I say that's due to uneven spread of heat.The thick part of hair on the top of your hair can't get the heat near the roots with this. I had to brush my hair with this thing sideways to try to get the root hair into the heat bristles. (I imagine if scrapping your scalp causes dandruff not to do that)Bottom line:Did it flatten my hair? YesWhat percent flat compared to flat iron? 65%How long ? About 25 minutes and not overheated.Do I plan on using the flat iron after the brush?Yes, for about 10 mins for 100% flat hairWould I purchase again? Yes when they improve these and the prices over the next 10 years.Will I recommend? Sure, but let them know it may not achieve their full desire.It may be 100% awesome for thin, Caucasian, mid length short hair BUT the roots still may not get the heat.*Not short hair at all or Puerto Rican (my friend tried it and didn't work at all)Women know, things are always different per person. So, be a skeptic and try it. Hopefully, it'll go down to 39.99. I'd be happier at that cost for these results

I ordered two of these on accident by using one-click. I gave the product a three BECAUSE one of them deserves one star and the other deserves five stars!!I reviewed customer satisfaction extensively prior to ordering this product. One customer complained that the product did not work upon arrival. This exact issue happened with my first straightener! The straightening brush would shut off on its own every minute. I thought I had been hitting the power button but when I placed it on the counter, I realized that it was still shutting off! It had to be returned and I was very displeased.The second brust straighner works wonderfully! I have naturally wavy hair and wanted a straightner that I could use at a lower temperature. Flat iron straightners tend to snag and pull my hair and as a result, my hair has become thin with lots of breakage. The straightening brush works wonders on my hair without pulling it out and causing breakage. I can shower at night and straighten it in five minutes in the morning for a healthy, natural look! The flat iron would make crease marks in my hair even on a low temperature. The straightening brush does not do that. Some customers complained that they were unable to style their with the brush straightener. I use the brush upside down and my hair curls under WAY better then it did with a straightening iron. The product does come with a 12 month warranty which helps with the wiring issue. I can not say how well the product works at higher temperatures for people with curly or corse hair but I am 100% satisfied with the straightening brush that was not faulty! I straighten my hair at 293 degrees. It takes 5 minutes! No frizz! No blow dying! I am able to get myself and my children out the door in a reasonable amount of time to start our day!

I'm totaly in love with my new hair brush. It was my Christmas gift. I have the kind of hair who are not curly and not straight... Jut a big bundle of hairs that I only have the choice to make in pony tail because I can't let them like that lol. I always dislike the normal hair straightener plate because it's too long for me. This new brush save my life, really!!! It take only 5 minutes and all my hairs are straight. I'm very happy of my Christmas gift! You can choose the temperature, I choose the higher. It come with a glove probably because the hairs can be hot because the brush don't come hot. I recommend this product.______________Je suis totalement en amour avec ma nouvelle brosse à cheveux chauffante! C'était mon cadeau de Noel. J'ai le genre de cheveux qui n'est pas totalement frisé n'y droit. Juste un amas de cheveux que je n'ai pas le choix de mettre en queue de cheval parce que je ne peux pas les laisser rebelles comme ça lol!!! J'ai toujours détesté les plaques chauffante parce que c'est beaucoup trop long pour moi. Cette nouvelle brosse est vraiment parfaite, elle a sauvé ma vie, vraiment!! hihi! Ça prend seulement 5 mintues et tous mes cheveux sont droits! Je suis vraiment contente de mon cadeau de Noel. On peut choisir la température, moi je le met au plus haut. This iron was a great purchase, or so I thought...It straightened my very curly hair (not the yucky flat stick straight, the nice, blowdry, out of the salon straight, volume included...) and didn't cause much damage to my hair, not the way a flat iron would...so I loved this product...and would have recommended it despite the fact the a few of the little tips on the brush teeth came off (no biggie, could still use the brush) BUT...today, it won't turn on...tried different outlets in the house...nada...purchase was made in August 2016, so it's not like I have had it forever...so my conclusion is I loved the brush but it's not necessarily a durable item(I should have known from the price though...most quality hair items I own that have lasted years were way more expensive...)...i usually prefer paying more replacing less often but depends on you...it worked really well until it stopped...

I bought the FemJolie hair straightening brush as a Christmas present to myself and am quite happy with this purchase. I have thick, wavy and frizzy hair but the FemJolie easily made my hair straight and faster than blow drying or using a flat iron. I find that this brush is way easier and faster to use than a flat iron. With the brush, I can take more hair at a time to straighten than a flat iron. I'm not sure that this brush would work well with a very layered cut. The only drawback is that the on/off and temperature buttons are very close to where you would hold the brush and while brushing I have accidentally pressed those buttons just by the way I hold the brush. Overall, it is a very good product for the price and I would recommend it!

I was not expecting much from a straightening brush due to me having very thick, frizzy, curly hair. It was so tedious and a long process using a flat iron.After researching straightening brushes, this one kept popping up on all the top brand lists. At $40, I decided to give it a try.Much to my surprise, it straightened my hair within 5 minutes. I am very impressed with this product. Heats up and cools down quickly. Does not get too hot on the fingers.I am giving it 4 stars since the hair closer to the scalp did not straighten as well and I had to run over it with a flat iron to get the look I wanted.Would highly recommend this product to all unruly hair woman everywhere.

i have recently purchased the femme jolie hair straightening brush and am quite happy with this purchase.i have thick wavy hair but the femme jolie easily made my hair straight. i would not say it's as straight as a flat iron, but this brush is way easier to use, and warms up faster then my old straightener. i had a 2" wide flat iron, so i have noticed the femme jolie is slightly heavier (minimally), but since it takes less time to straighten my hair it evens out. i did notice that the on/off button is in an awkward spot, and while brushing i have turned the temp up and down, just by the way i hold the brush; i wish it would make a sound to indicate this change. overall i am very impressed by the femme jolie and enjoy using it.
