Disappointed
Just received the radio and took out the headphones and they were torn up when we took them out. This was supposed to be a new item. Not sure if the radio works correctly or not yet. The headphones definitely need to be replaced.

Sturdy little radio, just perfect
I got my little sony radio 2 years ago and it's still going strong. I have used it nearly every day for 2 years and I have never had a problem with it. I have dropped it probably a dozen times, had it kicked and stepped on accidentally, had it fall in a lake and sit in the sun for many hours. I wouldn't be surprised if it stopped ticking after all of this abuse but it still has the same wonderful sound quality as it did when I first got it. It's super small and can fit in your pocket very easily which make it a great workout buddy. A lot of people who see it confuse it for a tiny MP3 player but it's just a simple radio. I cannot sing its praises enough... it was well worth the $$ or so I paid for it!

reception was very poor (constant hiss on favorite local station) power button placement/design poor for real-world storage - put it in a backpack and you can count on it getting bumped and powered on

Poor product from Sony
Coming from Sony, I expected a very good producthowever I was disappointed. The unit is quitelight and compact but the FM reception is verybad. In Local mode, the audio keeps fading in andout. When switched to DX mode, there is unbearablehissing and static. Got fed up after using it for3 days, am returning it. I used to be impressedwith the general quality of Sony products butnowadays I'm going for other brands like Panasonic.

nice little radio to work out with
i wanted something light, small, and easy to deal with at the gym while i work out. this product turns out to be near perfect. its very lightweight and has a belt clip that i can attach onto my shorts. i would have hoped that the headphones were the more 'sport' type, but they are the bigger, old-fashioned headphone. there is no arm band, but i prefer the belt clip to an arm band when i work out. overall, i would recommend this am/fm radio walkman because of its size, versatility, and good price.
