great at warming up a room, bad at wallpaper steaming.
before i get to the bad stuff let me just say that i have experience with labour, but using this machine was this was the first time ive ever peeled wallpaper. the machine was also a rental from my loacl home depot, so there is a chance it was underperforming due to its misuse and abuse by lots of people. however. i still think it shoulfd have been able to get the job done..The problems i found ith this unit were (the big seaming attachment did not distribute seam very well and one area would be over dampened while the rest would be under dampened. this mean that i would go to scrape some walpaper off and the dry part wouldnt peel, and the damp part would tear a chunk into the drywall. (sure it would help if i was better at moving thesteam pad around more, but when you are scraping with one hand and steaming with the other, some times your timing isnt perfect. Also the smaller steam attachment has plastic threads, that strip easily meaning the hose that relays the seam though can pop off often, shooting steam all over, and making it impossible to reattach until the whole unit cools down...other than the obvious flaws in this device, i cant help put wonder if there isnt a better way to remove wallpaper than this? I am a very fit, muscular guy and I used this steamer for 10 hours and could only get about 70 feet of paper off? srely there has got to be something better?

This product is excellent. I am a contractor for over 35 years
This product is excellent. I am a contractor for over 35 years. The problem some contractors have is they lack the know how on how to utilised this steamer. I used to own a propane wallpaper steamer until my city ordinance restricted the use of propane steamers. I have used the electric model with great results. Also some contractors who are trying to move into the wallcovering removal are ignorant to the different types of wallcovering to which some require different procedures and methods for removal. There has not been a wallcovering I have not been able to remove that could not be done with a steamer . Unless you know what you are dealing with you will continue to struggle with the removal process.I have over thirty five years of experience.

Better to use sponge and water
Rented form local HD, and returned within 2 hours for refund. I have used others before throughout the year which worked well. After and hour of heating half a tank, the steam was still not coming out of the plate. Cap was tight but steam was escaping from it. I'd rather continue to use a soaked sponge to remove the wallpaper than waste time with this. It was useless.

Works well
The trick to using this unit is to put wallpaper stripper liquid in the unit.Get the wallpaper really wet and that will aid in the stripping process.Be patient in the beginning of the project and you will get good results.Another time saving tip is to boil water beforehand and pour it into the unitOtherwise it takes a long time to heat the water.Hope this helps and I have had my unit for a long time and have just ordered anotherAs I'm really busy.I'm a painting contractor for over 15 yrs and this is my go to unit for wallpaper removal.
