I loved it, it worked for my little space where I drink coffee, and I lie down with my dog ​​to sunbathe.

After three weeks, I'm crazy about it and am provisionally giving it five stars because it's as fabulous as it looks here, has transformed my screen porch and has definitely enhanced my life. Given the size of my porch, we weren't able to stretch it out as straight as it is in the photo, so at first it almost seemed like I was semi-jackknifing in it--and it still sometimes takes a second to find my sweet spot; but I'm getting used to it and it's worth it. Unlike in a bed, to relax in it I have to almost consciously let go in all parts of my body, and this can lead to some very deep rest or sleep. More often I just chill out and soak up nature with all my senses. I was relieved to discover today that I can also read in it, including highlighting & so forth. So--so far--so very good. But I'm still in the provisional phase and will change this review if the cords loosen or anything else untoward occurs.

This is the best thing I have ever bought in my life. It is a great stress reliever especially when it rocks back-and-forth. I lay in it in my backyard and listen to my windchimes. Today I was in it in my backyard in direct sunlight in 85° weather wrapped up in it like a caterpillar - so I wasn’t getting direct sunlight - I didn’t even break a sweat. I was super comfortable the breeze still came through but the sun totally reflected. That was amazing!-Because I am a vampire/night owl. At night amazing it’s amazing. I think I will probably fall asleep on it one of these days. I did gave to tie a knot in one end because my hammock stand is not tall enough. It’s 4.1. You need at least 4.5 or tie it8/3/21 update. Updated: Mounting into the wall did not work due to the type of material my walls are made out of. It actually damaged the plaster (and the bolts still sagged, causing more damage). I ordered a 12 ft stand, and the result is pretty much the same (see second and third images). I wanted this to work so badly, but I do not have room in the space for 13ft or larger stand, and I am not in a position to pay someone to reconstruct my walls in order to mount this hammock.Original Review: I hemmed and hawed about which hammock and stand to get. I decided on this one since it looks really nice, and it is supposedly fair trade (which I rationalized was worth the double expense of other similar hammocks). The hammock seems to be good quality, and I cannot wait to use it. Considering the hammock is nearly 12ft, I was surprised by several recommendations by Novica to go with a 9-10 ft. stand. But I trusted them anyway. As you can see in my picture with a 10ft stand, this does not work well at all. I do not even have the several inches hooks and other hardware attached and the thing sags to the bottom of the stand anyway. If I had the hardware attached, the hammock would be all the way on the floor! I think a 12ft stand would result in the hooks being just right, and maybe a 14ft stand would be good if it had an additional chain. Given my amount of space, I'm thinking of not using a stand at all and just mounting directly into my walls... but if you want to use a stand, consider going bigger than the recommendations offered by Novica here.

This is the best hammock you can buy. I live in the land of rope hammocks....ugggghhhhh. This hammock is far superior. Not all Brazillian hammocks are the same. This is a traditionally woven hammock - the hanging support is actually part of the fabric...hence no "tense" spots. Worth every penny.

This is a very comfortable and large hammock. However, there are two things to know. 1) If you leave it out in the hot sun a lot, after 2-3 years it will degrade and the support ropes might break and you might end up replacing it. 2) The size can vary... the first one I got just barely fit my hammock stand. The replacement I got did not... but a couple carabiners did the trick so no worries. I would tell you the stand I got, but honestly, I can't find the details. I believe it's a 9' Best Choice Products stand. Happy hammocking!

I use this hammock as a nightly sleeper in my bedroom and it is SO comfy! I used to toss and turn endlessly when I used a mattress, to the point where I only got 3-4 hours of sleep per night. I tried several mattresses, even some really expensive ones, before doing research and hearning stories similar to the one I'm typing out right now.This is a very durable hammock, and very well-made. I spilled a few drops of tea one time and I expected it to be stained, but it came right out with nothing but water and a paper towel. It's absolutely beautiful too!
