Nice case
I have a few observations about this case...1. It is a very nice, well made case. The craftsmanship and feel are of the highest quality.2. I can't be sure, but I think it helping save battery. I previously owned a case made by the manufacturer. This case had a window cut out that showed a clock on the screen (of the phone) and any apps with notifications. That was a cool feature, but I think this was causing battery drain as the processor continually had to refresh the little window's view. There is no Window on the StilGut case, so there is no view to continually refresh. I think, because of this, my battery has seen better performance.3. Room for improvement. The other case had a clear round plastic piece in the upper right side. This laid directly over the phones indicator light (blinks when an alert is received). When the indicator blinked on the phone you could see it through the case. The StilGut does not have this little plastic piece. When you close the cover you have no visual indicator of an alert being received. Not a huge deal as you can still hear alerts but if you work with headphones on (like me) a visual would be nice as well.4. Room for improvement.- A way to mount the phone in landscape mode. Had the same problem with the other case. I could not mount my phone in landscape mode to watch my stories.

Elegant but functional
I previously had a StilGut case on my Blackberry Classic, and while I liked that case, I have to say that the case design for the Blackberry Priv is superior. The finish on the leather of this case is far better than what was on my Classic case, and the clip that holds the case shut curves further back around the phone than the one on the Classic case did. The only downside is that the case can sometimes be a bit difficult to open, but this is better than having a clip that can easily come undone in the event of dropping the phone. The "cognac" brown color is a bit more red than I was expecting from the pictures, but it's quite elegant looking and the front flap that covers the screen is quite padded. My old StilGut case on the Classic was black, and didn't have nearly as much lustre as this one did out of the box. It's quite pretty and you can tell by the stitching that it's well-made.I previously had Blackberry's official flip-case (the one with the window cutout), and while I loved the look of that case, there were two problems: first, it had nothing to keep it closed; and second, it was extremely difficult to use the phone unless you folded it all the way back. The advantage of this case is that the "spine" of the case is cut from a separate piece of leather, so that when you open the case up, the front flap isn't flush against the edge of the phone like a book cover (as it is with the official Blackberry case). This makes it easier to maneuver your left thumb and use the phone without having to always completely fold the cover completely back.

Outstanding!
I just took delivery of this case, and my initial impression is that it is one of the nicest looking and feeling cases I have ever owned for a cell phone. I got it in brown, and while it is a bit more redish brown than my tastes generally lean toward, it is nevertheless a very rich and elegant shade. The workmanship appears to be quite good, though I have no illusions that after a couple months of use sharing a pants pocket with keys and change it will get a bit scratched and dinged up.....how much I do not know at this time. What I also like is the "shell" that holds the phone in place. It appears to be a good, snug fit that cradles and protects the phone on the sides. But, because of the Priv's slide out keyboard, the top and bottom are not protected quite as well. Mine does not have a problem reported by someone else where the case makes the keyboard is difficult to slide up, so if there was an issue with this in earlier models it may have been corrected. One other thing I was concerned about was whether the case would accommodate a "normal" sized USB plug for charging. Specifically, if the edge of the case would get in the way of inserting a plug. Again, no problems with this. In general, I could not be pleased with this product. (Now if I could just find something equally good for a Samsung Tab S 10.5 Tablet.....)

Amazing Phone case!
I Love this case. I always like to have something that protects the screen of my phone and was sad to see there wasn't anything at the AT&T store. I settled for a plastic case that protects everything but the screen and I hated it. It was to smooth and slipped out of my hand a week later cracking the screen. I have since found this item and ordered it ASAP. Just received it and it is amazing! fits perfectly and closes very securely but is still easy to open with minimal effort. Also because of the leather it does not slip out of my hand as this is a pretty large sized phone as is. The craftsmanship is great and the lid has some extra padding material inside it so it's more than just a strip of leather covering the screen. I can also have it on speaker phone with my wife and she can hear me perfectly so it does not interfere with the mic and sound comes out just as good. I don't have any friends with a blackberry but if I did I would defiantly recommend this to them.

Beautiful leather, but the clip broke!
The StilGut book type cover I purchased for my Blackberry PRIV is beautifully crafted from fine leather. The cognac color is a rich hue which compliments the craftsmanship of the article. I purchased the "with clip" version specifically to keep my PRIV securely protected in the event it gets dropped. However within a very short time, the clip broke, is no longer stiff or study, which defeats the purpose of its intent. Now the case does not stay closed and pops open easily. I have no idea what caused the clip to break but as costly as the case was, I expected longterm functionality of your product. I wish I could give this case a 5-star rating, I was so glad I made the initial purchase, but now that I must use a rubber band to keep the case closed... well, to say the least, I am disappointed.

Very Good!
Excellent case breathes quality. Is ultra slimline but as this was purchased for a Blackberry Priv (Large phone) it doesn't make the phone's footprint significantly bigger. I purchased this with a screen guard for ultra protection. The case has a plastic grip integrated into the inside of the leather case. The phone then clips into this which provides a very secure clasp holding the phone in place. As the plastic grip aligns exactly with the length of the phone this doesn't then hinder the pop out keyboard from the bottom of the phone. The phone detects when the case is closed and goes into stand-by mode. The case doesn't have a clasp but is precision cut and alongside the hinge manages to stay closed almost adhering to the phone screen when closed. There are no cut outs to the front of the case, so you lose visibility of the message alerts on the stand-by screen. This wasn't an issue for me but if it is for you there are alternative cases.

The advertised on/off function doesn't work - the Blackberry Priv stays awake after the cover is shut, and doesn't wake it up when it is open. The front cover is not leather as advertised, but is only thin PVC imitation leather. It has shown signs of wear after only 2 days of use.The top clip does not secure the cover to the phone at all. I had to forcefully bend the clip by hand so that it catches the top of the phone to somewhat hold it in place. Even so it is not very secure.Having said that, the back cover smells like real leather and wraps around the phone in a slim shape.Even so, I'll keep using it as it still looks and feels better than other vertical flip covers I have tried so far.

Quite simply absolutely superb!! The fit & quality is outstanding, even to the point that people comment on this seriously good cover, the leather is divine,i have already got a spare ready,im fairly rough with my phones & this case is doing it"s job brilliantly & still looking like new. It might seem expensive, but soooo worth it. StilGut ... serious craftmanship.

Adds subtle style to a Blackberry
Having finally acquired a Blackberry Priv (which I am delighted with) I researched suitable covers and protection and settled on this Stilgut cover. Delivery was slightly delayed over Xmas but Amazon communication was to the usual high standard. What a lovely thing! High quality, tactile leather finish, perfect fit for 'phone, beautifully engineered. I chose the cognac leather which gives the Priv a classy but business-like look which has drawn unsought praise. Great value for the classic quality

Excellent fit. Im so impressed by the design as well. It is easier to make calls than making calls from a case that opens like a book.. I do however wish that this company caters to vegan buyers and create products that are not made of leather.
