Definitely worth the money—even though I apparently paid more for it than other reviewers! It was a pain to assemble by myself, so I'd recommend getting a second pair of hands to put it together, but it looked amazing once it was done. I'm using it to turn my cubicle annex into a rustic lodge, but I might buy a second one to make my apartment feel more homey for the holidays. My only criticism is that the fire and logs are pretty unrealistic compared to the fireplace. The ends of the logs look like the were just swirled in Photoshop. Wouldn't it have been simpler to just take a photo of the end of a log?Update: I've had this set up for a year and a half, and top is starting to bow a little (I have stuff on top of it) and I have to adjust it every few months to keep the adhesive together, but it's still standing!

I adore this cardboard fireplace. It is so inexpensive yet has a fun and kitschy vibe. I previously used the 1950’s style simple cardboard fireplace with the solid red rectangles as bricks. I would then spend extra money to purchase contact paper with a brick print to make it look more realistic.This fireplace takes out the extra steps and expense. It was fairly easy to assemble. I made alterations to the display so I could add a faux electric fireplace log insert. The insert does not throw any heat so it is safe to use with the cardboard. This is a cardboard fireplace for under $12, don't know what people are expecting. It was just sturdy enough for me, and I have a rowdy 3 year old. It's like a general cardboard box material, don't know why people are saying it's like paper, mine wasn't. Came with double sided foam tape, which I had plenty left over. It's really cute, and the 3-D effect is a nice touch. It was a bit sticky putting it together in only one section, and the directions were not the best, but it was super simple and easy to figure out. The only thing I didn't like was that I can't fold it all back up and save it for next year, wish I knew that ahead of time. I have a small place and really don't want to have this taking up my small storage area. The kids love it, and now we have something to hang our stockings on.

Looks great and at the right size. Bought for work and everyone who sees it likes it. I used the double side tape that was provided, but I would suggest to use Velcro instead. This way it can be disassembled and put away. With the double sided tape, you will have to storage it as is, other wise pulling apart the sides attached will rip it. I took a fellow suggestion from another Amazon buyer and added LED Candles Expower Rechargeable LED Flameless Candles Tealight Candles With Base（Set of 12) (Yellow-color Candle) to place in the middle of the fireplace instead of using the supplied fake fire insert. It makes it look so much better. Highly recommended.

This would have been a 5 star rating, except for the damage to the firebox section. First things first - it is surprising real looking brick, since it is a large print of a photograph, glued onto cardboard. I was pleasantly surprised. The “mantel” is attached to the front piece and you fold it down into position. The wood mantle front is not as realistic since it was much lighter than in the Amazon picture and lloks incongruous against the brick. I fixed this by putting one coat of black tempura craft paint over the “wood.” It acted like a stain and darkened it to look like walnut. The box it came in was painted black and became the hearth it sat on. The Van Gogh’ish insert was replaced with led pillar candles. To support the weight of the pillar candles, I hot glued 2 small Amazon brown boxes under the firebox section in the back. Dressing the top with a garland and adding 2 silk pointsetta plants to the front hearth completed it.

I never expected a cardboard fireplace to be this sturdy and realistic! I ordered this to put in our Children's Library at church for Christmas. It far exceeded my expectations. It came in a flat box and was completed damage free. The double sided foam tape is very strong-not the cheap kind that doesn't stick. It has foam blocks to attach the fire away from the back of the fireplace. The directions were very clear and easy to put together. I took my time assembling it so as not to damage it. It took about 30 minutes. I did reinforce some areas with pieces of cardboard cut from the box it was delivered in. These reinforced areas were folds where it was folded for packaging purposes. The fireplace is 36" tall by 44" wide. I am super happy with the fireplace and hope to keep it for years to come.

I ordered this product because I do not have a fireplace. I was pleasantly surprised at how strong this product was once it was assembled. I was able to hang stockings from it using hooks. An unexpected "bonus" was that as I was assembling the fireplace, before I had attached the back, I realized that the fireplace frame fit perfectly over my television, so I went to a "crackling fire" website and it looked like I had a real (sort of) fireplace. A great holiday decoration.
