She's got some balls!
I've had it for a week and I love it so far. I live in a townhome so I haven't been able to really crank it up because of our neighbors. I've been playing close to half way volume and it's pretty loud at that setting. No complaints yet and my neighbor is a cop. I'm using the Yamaha DTXplorer with this amp and I'm not a fan of the cymbal or hi hat sounds, but that has nothing to do with this amp. My plan is to use real cymbals and use the amp just for the drums. I'm pretty sure it will be loud enough to get a good balance. Hope this helps. Take care!

BOOM BOOM BOOM
Great electronic drum amp. If you're looking at amps with more power you should probably reconsider (unless you're getting ready to do big gigs). This 50 watt amp will break your windows if you crank it up. I have to play it at low volume settings to prevent damaging things (windows, ears, etc. :-). And it's heavy-duty - big dials, good weight, big bass cone.My only nit is that it seems to have some limits on amplifying high frequencies (which in an analog drum kit are not as prevalent and would be mic'd differently) - in electronic drum kits those can be significant - lots of kits, lots of "non traditional" sounds like chimes and bells and cosmic sounds. To get the balance that sounds level to me seems to require setting the treble dial at max.Prior to buying this amp, I used "guitar" amps for drums - some really good ones like Line 6 - but for the money and size I would not trade this amp for any other I've used when it comes to electronic drums.

This Amp is OK, Music123 SUCKS!!
The amp is ok, but it blew out at not even half volume in less than a year. MUSIC 123 refused to pay shipping to get me a replacement, and then they took 4 months to get back to me.

Nice set
for me being a beginner it is just fine, you really can't crank it all the way in a house or you'll blow your windows out. good sound.

Don't be fooled by this little guy! Powerful!
great monitor for my Roland KV11. I use it in my garage studio and it really shakes the walls! I haven't turned it up past 3. More than loud at that setting.

Simmons DA50 Review
Very nicely designed product. Performs as expected. Has sufficient volume for practicing, but you would probably need a somewhat larger amplifier for playing in a band situation.

Lightweight starter amp but well made!
It was a good starter amp however, I found that it was a bit light weight for my purposes, didn't have enough bass. I traded this in at the Guitar Center for a DA200s and what a phenomenal difference it made!! I also got a couple XLR cables to connect the amp to our PA system for added coverage, perfect. If you're just looking for a light-weight basic starter amp, this is okay.
