Sony MDR-RF985RK Wireless Radio Frequency Headphones (case of 2)

I love these headphones. My husband was using tv ears but they no longer worked for him, as his hearing keeps getting worse. They work much better that the tv ears because they block out all but the tv sound. I bought one for each tv because I can not put up with him having the tv turned all the way up.

The two pack was exceptional value given that these sell for more than $100 per set in audio stores. The sound quality is good but not great, the comfort is acceptable, but I lose connection from the base unit in the bedroom furthest from the transmitter, about 40 feet. These headphones perform well in the other tasks for which we bought them. They allow one of us to listen to a bedroom TV without disturbing a sleeping partner, and the set in the living room is great when one appreciates loud music and the other does not. Multiple channels allow each set to connect to a different device.

They didn't work for us. Plug it in and loose the sound from the TV.

I have owned wired, infrared, and now these radio frequency headphones. I bought these because I was unable to find any reasonably priced bluetooth headphones that are the comfortable "can" style that covers the whole ear.Pros:The range is better than IR.They are comfortable to wear. They are light and extended use is not a problem.Battery life seems solid. I use these at work for stretches of 3-4 hours at a time and they have never died.Dual connection options allows for easy connection to computers, game consoles, etc.The charging station is simple to use and creates a designated storage space.Cons:The sound quality is inferior to a similarly priced traditional set of wired can headphones.There are occasional static hisses.Conclusion:If you are not too picky when it comes to audio quality, these are a good fit. I used to own a set of Sony MDR-V700 and they sounded much better than these, however I am willing to give that up in order to have no cord.Note: This review is for the (case of 2); which was in fact two separate retail boxes (2 total headphones, chargers, cord sets) . It's a case/box of two things, one base and one headphones = 2 things. If you compare pricing, you will see that it would be at half price if this was two sets. So while I thought it was worth a try to see if it would be TWO SETS, I wasn't disappointed when it arrived and was only one. But we love it as it was a good price and came right on time and works great.AMAZON, PLEASE TEACH THESE PEOPLE ENGLISH - They are calling this two sets when it's just one set (in the box are two items - the headphones and the base/charger. It also contains power and audio cords)!!

I purchased Sony headphones deliberately because I have a Sony Bluray DVD player. Imagine, if you will, my surprise when I found they were incompatible. That being said, I guess I am an unhappy camper, and will probably look elsewhere for future purchases.George Massman

I purchased this set at Best Buy and found that when I went out on the deck 20' from the TX that was next to a window it still exhibited fades and pops. I exchanged it for a Sennheiser RS 170 that works perfectly with much better range. I think the difference is that the Sony is 900 Mhz and the Sennheiser is 2.4 Ghz.

Headset is very good. It was very easy to set up.I only received 1 headset until after posting the first review. Then I was contacted and sent another headset.This ad should be reworded and the "(case of 2)" removed.Shipping was quick and excellent.
