The quality is apparent, having used full face masks in the past and getting certified once a year for the past 5 I believe that if and when necessary this will do its intended job. I really like the 3 points of connection, it gives lots of options. We purchased the glasses that fit inside and after getting them fitted with my script I am impressed.UPDATE! I was browsing my purchase history and saw where another review had questioned the authenticity of the masks, 400/3 vs 400/3 BB, so I contacted Mestel in Italy directly and after a few tests and such confirmed these are the real deal. The are absolutely the SGE 400/3 BB. The product I received was labeled as such, thanks for a great product that is correct despite others questioning it.

I paid for the top of the line 3-port "butyl rubber" sealed gas mask, but after many interactions with the seller (and his alleged communications with the manufacturer to this effect) there was nothing in the mask itself to show I had received a butyl rubber seal mask and not the cheaper non butyl rubber model. Despite the instructions stating "when removing the mask from its BOX" (emphasis caps are mine), the mask I received didn't come in a box (other than the plain brown shipping box of course), but in a sealed plastic bag, the type you can seal yourself with some winter windows plastic sheeting film from Lowe's and a $5 handheld plastic sealing machine you can buy at Walmart. Upon inquiring from the seller as to how I would know I did get the butyl rubber seal mask, he directed me to the label on the plastic bag saying "400/3 BB" (according to the seller the "BB" was for "Bromobutyl rubber"). However, given 10 minutes, I could had duplicated the exact label with a pack of $8 Avery labels from Staples using my $200 home laser printer. In the end, it appears these masks are not the real thing.As for the instructions I received, they consisted of 1 single sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper (yeah, standard office paper) that appeared to have been printed in a cheap home laser printer: The instructions were printed on both sides and meant to be folded into a 4-page manual, but the opposite side was printed upside down such that instead of reading 1->2->3->4, the pages read "1->upside down 3 -> upside down 2 -> 4". Despite many promises from the seller to correct the problem, he never provided me with the promised good set of instructions. At 4 pages long, these instructions are not what would be considered "thorough instructions" as the ad claims. Worse, the instructions received were in color but the printer used was either not calibrated or low in one of its toner because every text and diagram in them showed a red "ghost" line that would drive you dizzy when reading them. Again, after 6 weeks, the vendor never sent me a good set of even those very NON thorough instructions. Worse yet, the type size of the printed text was too small to be read comfortably (approximately a Calibri size 6-7 in a Microsoft Word document).I can't say I hate the mask, but I can't give it an "It's OK" 3-star, so would give it a 2-star "I don't like it". However, because it appears to fit me OK and seems comfortable (worn for 30 seconds, if that's a valid test), I am reluctantly settling on the "It's OK" 3 stars. BTW, I paid $232.50 for the mask.

works like its supposed to even though its kinda stinky but it will serve its purpose like its intended to do.
