Best accident ever!
I don't usually write product reviews this quickly and I may have to update at some point since I just received this product yesterday and have only used it once. Interesting thing is I was upset when I pulled out of the box because it is not what I thought I was ordering. I thought I was reordering another beet powder I had tried. Don't know how it happened but I'm so glad I decided not to send it back and to try it. This stuff is great. As one other reviewer said, when you take the lid off you immediately smell beets, not true with the product I have been using. In digging the scoop out, a small little spoon type thing as some reviewers have pictured, beet powder splashed out and so I wet my finger and tasted it straight. I love beets and it tastes like beets. I know some people make comments about a taste like dirt but I can't remember from my childhood what dirt tasted like. I do know that beets are root vegetables and that's where they grow so I think they probably do have a little bit of dirt taste. Anyway I jumped right into making a smoothie which I do with almond coconut milk, some fruit juice, some frozen fruit, collagen protein powder etc. Unlike the brand I have been using which I never tasted in a smoothie, this had a slight taste of beats, which again, I love. I used a blender to do the smoothie so it mixed in really well. Can't speak to just putting it into a glass and stirring it up. I'm so happy my accident occurred because I now have a new favorite. And without going into detail, I have already experienced some of the positive results that beets produce for me.

Seems to do what it claims at a reasonable cost
It took about 5 days before I really noticed results. But I have increased energy for longer periods of time. No super strength or amazing powers, but I also noticed I survived my usual allergy/bronchial infection bout, and recovered much quicker than I have in a long time. I have even returned to the gym for regular aerobic exercise once again. Being a senior, that is a definite plus! The powder mixes well, and is easy to measure using the supplied little plastic 1/2 teaspoon scoop. I add cold water from the fridge and just drink it straight. I like that it has no additives, so I am avoiding mixing it with juices, etc. Yes, not the greatest tasting beverage, but not as bad as you might expect either. To me it tastes like bland, failed tomato juice...and, yes, a bit like dirt. I am slowly getting used to the taste. Doubt I will come to like it...but I don't hate it either.I was set to switch to the more prominently advertised brand (if this one didn't work out)...the one that begins with 'super'. But it is more expensive, and has taste additives... and this one works great. I have read some arguments that SB is really not more expensive because you get more beets per dose. However, $40 only gets you 30 servings, compared to 78 of this one. Also, there are some possible negative effects to taking too much beet powder (according to some health articles I came across before I decided on my purchase), so a moderate amounts is fine with me, and seems to be effective.I have noticed no ill effects so far. I am not big on health supplements. A daily multivitamin is my usual limit. My expectations were not high, but PureBeets has met and exceeded them at this point. And it is really just like eating more beets, but in a different form. Like many people, I don't eat enough vegetables. Sorry Mom.

Really like it - 4.5 stars
I like how you can taste the earth (not sure if this is good for me or not, but I like it.). Other companies are so much more expensive because they "juice" the beet root and then freeze dry it, leaving a concentrate for you to reconstitute, that must be a costly process! It also gives a concentrated beet flavor, not my preference.PureBeets is exactly what it says, powdered beet root. Nothing more, nothing less. It is very mild in flavor and, like I mentioned, you can taste the earth it was grown in.As for energy, I certainly feel more energetic and not buzzy like caffeine, it's a hard to describe feeling. I use this every morning. Initially I was out to see if it would help bring down my blood pressure a touch. Not seeing that yet, but will give it a few more weeks. For now, I'm enjoying the extra energy. The missing half-star is due to the measuring spoon, it's really not very good at getting a consistent measurement due to its shape, more like a regular spoon (open ended) than a measuring spoon. Which, in the end, isn't that big a deal, I don't need to be that precise.Recommended.

Best post workout that I have ever used! Will never use anything else!
I found out from a vegan body builder, and my MMA coach that they both use beet juice. After doing some research into the effects and benefits of beets. I decided to give it a try. Most post workout's either give me a headache, are full of fillers and caffeine, have a ton of sugar in it, cancer causes additives, or have a really bad "crashing effect" once they wear off. I had nothing to loose by giving beets a try. Man oh man, am I glad I did!!! This has turned out to be the best post workout that I have used in my life. Beets give me a nice steady amount of energy and a nice pump while training and working out. I do not have to worry about a bad crashing effect like caffeine does to me or the headache that follows from to much caffeine. And most of all it's just clean, veggies.Only one bad note and that is of course the taste. It's not the best of taste, it will take some getting used to. I just gulp it down as fast as I can, two scoops in 8oz of water. It used to be a chore to drink, but now I'm used to it and just drink it two hours to sometimes one hour before my workout's and move on with life. Also a side note, your pee and poop will have a red tint to it. DO NOT FREAK OUT!! This is completely normal, it's just from the beets. Your body just filters out the red from the beets. You can do your own medical research if you need future confirmation of this. Beets are deep red and when it passes through your system, your body is just passing the colour of the beets though.
