Holy $#!t!This thing actually works! I've had a stained toilet that I've literally spent hours trying to scrub. Nothing worked. I figured I'd look on Amazon, and check out reviews. This product seemed to have some of the best ones, so I figured - what the hell. A few bucks is better than having to buy a new toilet. I dumped (no pun intended) a little of the liquid in the toilet and waited 10 minutes as directed. The liquid looked very thin, and had no odor at all, so I was initially worried that it may be too diluted. Anyway, 10 minutes later, I flush the toilet, and the stains are gone! I didn't even need to scrub - they just came undone by themselves. I have never seen anything work as good as this, to the point that I just had to post a review right away. I just wish I took before and after photos. One thing that you need to be careful about, is that once you open the bottle, it will start dispensing fluid the moment you flip it upside down, without squeezing.

Used this on my toilet with the typical buildup. It worked fantastically. I let this stuff soak for about fifteen minutes with no water in the bowl. Two flushes later and almost all of it is gone on it's own. The rest scrubbed off quiet easily. Just make sure you let this stuff soak without water in the bowl. I haven't tried this in the bathtub so I don't know if it stains or ruins chrome or other surfaces. Works great on porcelain.The good:- I've tried two other hydrochloric acid cleaners, this probably works the best in my experiences.- The nozzle makes it easy to get the stuff up around inner edges of the bowl.- Somewhat foamy, seems to help with soaking the buildup.The bad:- Smells terrible. Other acid cleaners have scents added to keep them from smelling this bad. You should already be working in a well vented room with any cleaner of this caliber, but you may want to have some air fresheners ready when you're done.- While the nozzle is nice for application, it allows the fluid to spray out quite easily the moment you tilt the container. Be ready for this stuff to come pouring out the moment you twist the nozzle open. Not the safest design.- It was leaking when I got it. It came in plastic wrap so luckily it wasn't all over the package, but it clearly leaked a bit during shipping. Again, questionable safety.Lastly, WEAR EYE AND HAND PROTECTION. This stuff is no joke, especially with the goofy nozzle this thing comes with.A badass - lost their vision after getting their eyes gouged out in a bear attack while protecting their wife/children/dog.Not a badass - lost their vision trying to clean a toilet.

WOW! IT REALLY WORKS! We have tried so many things and spent so many hours for the last 12 years, and nothing would remove the "rock hard" ugly brown mineral build up. Even tried sharp blades, like a single edged razor blade, and very sharp wood chisel. They kind of worked, but were scratching the bowel surface, and not doing a good job. Enter: Vani-Sol. Applied it once, and came back and scrubbed with a nylon-bristle-brush, and some of the mineral yuk disappeared, but almost ALL THE DISCOLLORATION was gone! Three more applications, and got rid of almost all the buildup and discoloration! Happy days! Unless you really get close and look, it looks like a new toilet. We were tempted to replace all 3 toilets and start over (about $1000), but figured that our water conditions would just repeat the problem. I treated all 3 toilets, and had a tiny bit left over. One warning: when bending over the toilet and brushing, I smelled strong fumes, that can't be healthy. Open a window for good circulation. I figure routine cleaning will gradually remove the tiny bit remaining. Thank you Vani-Sol, and thank you Amazon for making it available. Tried Lowes about 6 months ago, and they had just quit carrying it.

The toilet in our master bathroom was horribly stained! I tried everything on it, scrubbed it like crazy but, nothing could get the stains off. The first picture I posted shows how bad the stains were and that was after scrubbing at the toilet! I poured the cleaner in the toilet and immediately started to see the stains desolve away. I let the cleaner set for 15 minutes then flushed and all the stains were gone! The stuff really works and I would highly recommend this toilet bowl cleaner to anyone!

If you have hard water, you need to get this immediately. I had rust stains in my toilet and no matter what I tried, I could not get them out. It made me feel like my toilets were always dirty, and I absolutely hated the way it looked. It was embarrassing. I was googling for the hundredth time, trying to find a solution, when I found a blog that recommended using a product with a high proportion of hydrochloric acid. I headed straight to Amazon and found Vani-sol. When it arrived, I let it sit in my toilets for 15 minutes, then scrubbed as I usually would. The rust stains are gone! My toilets look brand new and I am no longer ashamed!

If you have hard water and rings in the toilet bowl are a problem, this stuff is THE BOMB! It is septic tank safe, easy to use, and smells very pleasant. Just flush to wet the entire bowl, brush first to remove any surface stuff, then squirt on and leave a few minutes - about 5 - before the final scrubbing. Our water is super hard - even with a water softener; this is the best toilet cleaner I've run across in 22 years. I do normally buy it at a much better price at Sam's Club, but when you can't find it otherwise, it's a good deal here.

This arrived without being in a separate sealed bag (really should have been in double sealed bags considering the contents). It isn't as effective as I thought it would be given the "high acid" in its title. Although I keep a very clean house, we have one newer commode that seems to continue to build up a waterline hard-water ring no matter what I've tried nor how frequently I've cleaned it. Had to use several applications of this Vani-sol cleaner to even see a difference. Perhaps with repeated regular usage, it might do a complete job.
