A little mix up but problem was taken care of
I ordered this spice and it says 4oz then in the description the 1lb bag is highlighted. Sell price is listed as $9.88. So I understood that to mean I would receive four 4oz packages. However only one 4oz package showed up. There was a bit of back and fourth and it took darn near 3 weeks to get my pound of spice. But man oh man was it worth it. I used some of it last night. I cooked cubed London broil using this spice and it was absolutely delicious. To make up for the mistake this company also gifted me a 4oz package of Mitmita spice (which I mixed with the Berbere spice) when cooking my London broil. Note: Beware that both spices are quite hot so be careful with how much you use, especially if little ones or people that do not like hot spice food is going to be eating it. In fact I would say just do not use it at all in these cases. But if you do like spicy hot and lots of exotic flavors you should definitely give these spices a try.Note: I just checked the site and this confusion with the size of package has not been rectified so be careful when you order.

The perfect, mandatory ingredient for niter kibbeh
My niter kibbeh (Ethiopian spiced butter) turned out perfect, thanks to this excellent herb. The quality was fantastic. If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian herbs, this is a must-have. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Absolutely wonderful.
Cooked a potato, chicken, and broccoli hash for the people I currently live with.I have officially converted them.Berbere is God's Ethiopian gift to mankind, and its umami-satisfying flavor is impeccable.Great product. Highly recommend. Will probably use this up far too fast. It's still worth it.

i put a teaspoon in my mouth and spit it out. wasn't feeling the taste and smell. was forced to throw the rest of the bag away.
