I was a bit dubious on buying such a cheap fire. But it was completely unfounded!I have fitted this fire on an old chimney breast. It is just the right width and height. It doesn't look too small nor too big. It fits in nicely. I have managed to install this with no cables showing at all. A 13a plug on about 1.8m of cable is provided. I hard wired mine to a 13a fused spur with the cable totally hidden - however I am an electrician and the room was being refitted at the time. The fixing bracket is included and goes up easily. Fixings were provided, but I chose to use my own. The fire weighs very little, so nothing too serious is needed. I used brown 7mm wallplugs and suitable panhead screws.The lighting effect is good. There are 7 different back-light settings. Some show brighter than others and obviously a lot of this depends on your wall colour. My wall is bright orange as it is a feature, so the orange backlight on this fire looks really good against it. The remote control allows you to change the brightness of the flame effect too. This is handy, and does change the look dramatically.The remote control itself is good. The range seems decent - I can sit on my sofa which is a good distance from the fire and it still works fine. I live in a typical 80's semi, so it is about 4m away. You can change the backlight colour, the brightness and the heater settings...as well as turning the fire on and off from the remote.The only design fault is that the heat comes out the top. A more expensive electric fire would emit heat at the bottom, allowing it to rise throughout the room. However, I didn't buy this for heating - a small electric heater is far too costly to run to heat a whole room! So the fact that the element is hidden at the top is actually ideal for me as you can't see it!I measured energy consumption and it was 8w with just the backlight and flame effect on - so it is as much as a single LED bulb - very efficient to run.

I am very pleased with this fire having looked at hundreds. I bricked my fireplace up and wanted a fire with backlights, so as to brighten up the recess. The backlights work great but it's worth pointing out that these lights are at the sides only and not top and bottom. The flame effect is adjustable over four settings and works well. I personally think that the flame effect is the best that I have seen. The light brown stones look fine and in my opinion, much better on the eye than some fires with plastic coal or logs.Fitting was very easy and involved drilling six holes, all fittings are supplied.My living room is not very big, about 7M x 7M but this fire heated the room in no time. When the fire is on, either 900W or 1800W, the fire does make a noise. The noise is a low level hum and not a rattle. I got used to the noise very quickly and it almost disappeared into the background after a few minutes. Actually, this hum reminds you that the fire is still on! There is no noise whatsoever when the fire is being used with just the backlights and flame effect.

Overall good item,Easy to fit and use but the settings on the control for the time is difficult to work out because of this many people sell them in in different online sites for half the price. I have since bought two more at 20.00 each on other sites for this reason.

Very nice fire for the price, it looks more exspensive than it is so great value. The reason I'm knocking off a star is because even when just having the flame on they was an awful ticking sound coming from the motor and it was driving me mad. I decided to remove the front glass and then the metal panel along the bottom to expose the light feature / motor. I found the problem and it's a very simple fix. They is 2 tie wraps at the back that had not been snipped down so they were catching on the motor as it rotated. I simply cut them back and BOOM, no more clicking sound.

I bought this specific one because I needed it to fit in my chimney, I measured the exact dimensions but when it arrived, I got it out and measured, it did not fit and it seemed I got a much larger one than intended, so I had to DIY fit it and drill a lot. Also the picture in the logo is now what you get, if anything I would say the flame effect is not all that good. Do not get me wrong it looks nice, it keeps you warm AND you can just have the flame, that is nice but the fire effect is not as nice as I thought it was going to be, plus the oversize, so I have lowered the review but it does work well.

This is being fitted, asap, to replace a condemned gas fire by an electrician who has taken it out of the packaging and is happy to put it in for me. Won't be able to use just yet as old fireplace has to be made solid to hang this on. Can't wait to try the different background lighting. Not long after I posted this comment the fire was working and looks great. Like the fact that the date and time can be shown on the screen.

Very prompt delivery!! I ordered this fire on the Monday, delivered on theTuesday (next day) and up on wall an hour later. (Easy to install)I am so pleased with it and it looks absolutely stunning. Everything in working order although I won't be using the heat setting till the colder weather sets in. I had the flame and side lights on last night and it gave a beautiful warm glow. I contacted the seller about an enquiry and received a message back promptly so customer relations good too. I am very pleased with my purchase 😀

Really nice to look at on the wall and makes a nice feature- very easy to install and only requires 2 screws and is fitted with a plug. Can set it up with a timer or use remote control
