Excellent
Although not fully tested yet, this record player looks fantastic. The handle, catches and case all seem sturdy and protects the insides very well. The stylus arm is not too heavy as to cause too much wear on the vinyl. Yes, it does sound a little tinny but what do you expect - this is exactly how portable record players sounded in the 70s and 80s! The lid has an arm that holds it open at just the right angle for a 12" record to play so you do not have to fold the lid right back (like other brands). I haven't tested the auto-return yet but if it does lift before the end of the song, just turn the auto function off. I haven't checked the USB functions yet but everything is there, including the free USB stick. There is no headphone socket, although I'm sure some adapter could be made from the Audio out phono plugs that enable connection to a hi-fi. Overall, a nice package at a competitive price.

Great to hear my old records again
I read some of the negative reviews about this but so far it has been great. No problem with the speed or the turntable and it has happily played 33s,45s and even 78s which a lot of them don't. It is easy to record your discs and transfer them to a computer or whatever. The speakers are adequate but as I generally listen to music on 250w x 250w system with a subwoofer that rattles the floorboards I invested a couple of quid in some RCA leads as my system is quite old and does not have an AUX jack input although it does come with leads which can be used with more up-to-date systems. Very pleased I bought this as many of my records have not been played for years. Also its design is compact and it can be easily stored away when not wanted.

Disappointed!
I was expecting a bit more from this soundwise. It sounds very tinny and you get a static sound when you touch the on/off volume knob to turn it up or down. Sometimes it sounds like the turntable is struggling to maintain the correct speed of the record, slowing down then speeding up. I wasn’t expecting a big sound with it but I was expecting more than I got. On the positive side it looks good but if only it’s sound matched it’s looks it would be so much more of a hit with me!

Lovely little record player
Great looking record player and easy to use. Not very loud as a standalone unit, however can be connected to a hi-fi system. Being able to convert records to a USB stick is also a great feature.

RETRO- NEAT- EXCELLENT QUALITY I am so pleased with this record player
RETRO- NEAT- EXCELLENT QUALITY I am so pleased with this record player. The quality and finish is superb and kit proud to own. As mentioned in another review it does need the weight of a penny on the stylus arm --also the matching speaker helps give a superb sound production. This is amazing value and the looks and feel is one of quality .It is a fine retro reproduction and all of the various function work to an excellent standard.I am more than delighted with the sound reproduction when coupled with the matching speaker.Well done everyone.

Great Player - Highly Recommended.
This record player is very easy to use and record my LP's. The recordings are excellent sound - a lot better than expected. Please note that when recoding an album by individual tracks it will stop recording if there is only a short space between the tracks - you have to record these one at a time. This player is not meant for everyday use as the loudness is very low but is fantastic for recording. I am really pleased with this and would definitely buy this again.

Excellent gift
I purchased this as a birthday gift to my father, who both himself and his father worked for the GPO way back in the day! He also has great interest in busses which is why I chose the colour red.It is a lovely little item, even smaller and compact than I imagined it would be, but that is not a criticism at all it it a fabulous little thing. You can plug into external speakers, you can record LPs onto a USB and much more. My only down note would be that the speakers on it arent amazing, however they work well, and it is a great little item to take on a UK holiday and set up wherever you stay, or you can play it at home or wherever you want through external speakers. All in all a great item and a very happy Dad when he opened it.

Nice looking but don't expect great sound.
It looks nice, it sounds OK but not great from the small speakers. You can't store the plug and lead inside the case. With auto stop on it cuts out before the end of the record but you can turn that off and it will keep spinning the record unless you lift the arm or turn the volume knob to the off position. I haven't tried recording to the supplied 512MB USB stick, I would rather buy the MP3 or better quality 24bit if available. It's cheap so don't expect it to perform like a Rega or Linn however I connected it to my Hifi system and the sound is reasonable, lacking the dynamics of the more expensive turntables and with some noticeable flutter I was still surprised that it sounded better than expected and way better than through the speakers of the unit itself. The RCA out is not line level, it's fed from the volume control and comes with a RCA to headphone plug to enable connection to external self powered speakers. It also has a plug to connect an external source to play on this unit but I struggle to think why you would want to do that. Overall it's a reasonable way to play your vinyl that can be used standalone or hook it up to a HiFi (as most do not have turntables these days) to improve the sound. I can't tell you how long it will last, I doubt I will use it much, I only bought it to play some of our old vinyl during a nostalgic notion and because it's in a case can be put away when not in use.
