Excellent video quality and range
We were among the many unfortunates who had purchased a Motorola MBP36S only to discover that after a few months the parent unit stops charging, rendering it useless (just take a look at the reviews to understand just how poor that product’s quality is).So we unexpectedly found ourselves needing to buy a new video monitor. We ruled out any of the Motorola units on the grounds of shoddy quality. We also ruled out WiFi cameras as we often stay in places with poor connectivity. After a great deal of reviews research and deliberation we ended up buying this Angelcare 1320. We chose it over the older, cheaper Angelcare 1120 as that looked clunky and apparently has a smaller, worse quality screen. 24 hours after first use the 1320 is proving to be just the job.It seems like all baby monitors have pros and cons. In the case of the 1320 it appeared that people had concerns that the volume isn’t loud enough and disliked that the camera can’t pan around. However all in all we think it’s a great product for the money, and better than the Motorola in most areas.> Sound. Several people reported in reviews that the speaker in the parent unit isn’t loud enough. For us though it’s really absolutely fine. Not quite as loud as the 36S but easily loud enough to hear our little’un crying. Frankly the attraction of hearing a baby crying loudly through a monitor lost its appeal very quickly for us and we’d typically kept the 36S at it’s lowest volume anyway (particularly at night!). Unless you are in a very noisy environment it’s not going to be an issue at all.> Screen. Excellent. Far better than the Motorola. It’s not as good as the best WiFi cameras but the picture is clear, sharp and bright. Day and night. It exceeds our expectations.> Parent unit battery life. Fine if you don’t have the screen on all the time, which unless you want to stare at the baby continuously isn’t going to be a problem. So far we’ve found it lasts for hours on battery in audio-only mode. If something’s going on you can check-in on live video instantly by pressing button on the front of the parent unit. If you do want continuous video just plug it in.> Range. Vastly better than the Motorola. We are currently staying in a large house with very thick walls. On previous visits the Motorola only really worked when in the room directly below or outside the window. The Angelcare works everywhere, including in an adjoining annexe. Fantastic!> Thermometer: works fine. We think it’s more accurate than the 36S which always seemed to believe that the room was hotter than reality.> Build quality. All of these kind of products are somewhat plasticky, however to us the Angelcare looks and feels a bit better than the Motorola. Only time will tell whether it will be more durable.> Other features. We won’t use the nightlight (little’un won’t sleep with it on) feature, but it’s nicely integrated into the camera unit. Unlike the Motorola, the Angelcare 1320 does not have a talk/intercom facility, although we only ever used that with the 36S to freak each other out occasionally with an unexpected disembodied voice in the nursery. And that’s about it really. Overall very happy with the new unit, particularly compared with the Motorola.Update after a month or so of use: still very happy with this. The range of this unit is vastly superior to the Motorola, working everywhere in our 3 story house and at the end of a 100ft garden. Video quality at night is a little less clear than the Motorola but adequate. Battery life of the parent unit remains entirely acceptable so long as the screen isn't on all the time. Sound is loud enough (for us at least).

Great baby monitor.
Love it. although the screen resolution is a bit too low.Does the job very well. Great monitor. Battery holds for up to 14h at start.Unfortunately our battery died after 12 months - we've been using it badly, constantly on cable charging - that killed it.I found a replacement one and had to do some DIY with the unit but now the new battery holds up to 9h. Still very good. Warranty of course down the drain.

UPDATED: Terrible monitor!!!
UPDATE: Do not buy!! Not worth it! Despite my initial delight at this monitor when I first received it, 12 months later exactly I am having to eat my words. The monitor developed a fault with charging. I've returned it 3 TIMES no less and keep receiving a faulty item. It's beyond me how companies are allowed to go on selling poor quality items for so much money. How is it so difficult to get a good baby monitor, with a clear video that works well in this day and age?! Ridiculous! After months of researching monitors and actually ordering (and returning) several other models including BT and Motorolla models I'm so pleased we ordered this monitor. The picture quality is the clearest by far, it's great at eliminating background noise (we play white noise) but still picking up baby's cries. Being able to watch our little one and see she is safe or catch her playing when she wakes up from naps is just invaluable. It hasn't got all the bells and whistles of other monitors (light shows, playing lullabies etc) but if your main priority is clear picture and sound in my opinion its the best one on the market. The range is also really good - I can sit in the garden during her daytime naps and know she's safe. As an axious first time mum this product has eased my mind so much.

Easy to set up and use
Easy to set up and use. The battery life is weaker than expected, we can't leave the parent unit unplugged all night but works very well for a few hours. The volume is a bit low as mentioned by other reviewers so if you have a noisy house this might not work for you. We leave it on maximum volume and are happy with the volume level. The video display is great and very useful.

Great but battery life terrible
Agree with Nicky Windows... Monitor is great but I leave the monitor screen off and charging all day in my bedroom but soon as I unplug it to take downstairs on a night when put baby down the battery goes straight to the lowest amount 1/3 and within an hour its beeping to indicate flat battery :s not sure why it never fully charges when its left off and on charge all day, even tried leaving it on and on charge all day but this made no difference. For the price and from such s big brand you dont expect this sort of thing, its a bit of a pain to have to leave the monitor constantly on charge as it means when you leave a room you either have to move the charger with you or keeping popping back in the other room to check the screen. Other than this, which is a big issue really, the monitor picture is great on day or night mode, a tad bright in the dark but to be expected I suppose, sound is loud enough for me and range of signal is good throughout the house

Battery non existent and no longer charges
The battery life is non-existent and the range is poor. We have had to have ours plugged in constantly from the beginning which isn't ideal. The monitor no longer charges so we are going to have to buy another one which 2 years in feels frustrating. This has been same experience for 3 friends who have the same monitor so it seems to be a wider issue. Otherwise it does what it says on the tin. Given the price and the charging issue, we will look to buy a cheaper monitor.
