It came really well wrapped as fragile and is very beautiful and good value compared to others
Bought as gift for daughters boyfriend who loves it. It came really well wrapped as fragile and is very beautiful and good value compared to others. Thinking of buying one myself now.

needs some work
This tagine does not take changes in heat very well and is difficult to use. Part of the process of tagine cooking is to add water at some points; this means lifting the lid a bit and putting some water in if there is not enough. My tagine broke the fourth time I did this - I think due to sudden heat change. Unlike most tagines this can't be used on a hob and bending down to lift the smooth lid while it is in the oven is challenging. The top of the lid needs to be rough to provide a better grip; it would make things safer. It is a very good looking tagine and a good colour. It is also a good size for a family size meal.

Good size tagine at a good price
Looks good, bought as a present. Very similar to our own tagine that cost twice the price. This is a good size tagine - they are deceptive in size in that a large one is required for a family meal.

Black Tagine
Elegant and solid. I like it for it's depth and stability but it would benefit from a team escape hole as simmering tends to bubble around the edge of the lid and forms a crust. The "top-knot" gets very hot very quickly (not a problem if you are aware of it but dangerous for the curious bystander).

NOT a proper tagine.
DO NOT USE DIRECTLY ON HOB - despite no sales information and unclear packaging, this cannot be used on the hob like proper tagines can. In my opinion this is NOT a proper tagine. On first use the base fell apart and made a massive mess in my kitchen.

Mason Tagine....No very heat resistant
I love to cook using new ways, and was very happy to receive my Mason Tagine which looks good and can resultin tasty meals...However, after successfully cooking my first chicken meal, it seems the Tagine cannot take heat higher than the lowest setting possible, as having turned the heat on the hob up to a 'medium' heat a crack developed in the base unit :( Now I am worried to use it again in case the entire base brakes with hot food inside....If this is in fact the case, the product should come with clear warnings on the label to state 'ONLY USE ON LOW HEAT LEVELS' as I am sure anyone would consider this item to be completely heat proof considering its solely designed to cook food. I was very surprised and disappointed to find the hairline crack in the base unit when washing up, and could only imagine it was a result of turning the gas hob up to a medium heat before simmering! As I did not wash it up until it was completely cold......I did manage to purchase this item during a sale, otherwise I would have been VERY disappointed, although it seems I have still wasted money on this item. So I would suggest this item is used with extreme caution if you actually want it to last any period of time... Weep Weep

Tough tagine!!
I had a slow cooker which came with a shallow Tagine. Unfortunately the Tagine cracked, firstly down the lid in 2 directions radially and then across the base, it is now an ornament! As a replacement this is an amazing dish which may not have been if the delivery guy had had his way!! I wasn't home when it was delivered and found a note from the supplier's delivery firm driver stating that my parcel had been put over the garden gate at the back of my house. The gate is 6ft high and not see-through, the path is concrete with slab patterns and hence some quite sharp edges. Quite a drop for such a fragile item, unfortunately the box was not labelled such. Fortunately though the issuing company had packed it well with bubble-wrap and inflated "snakes" that cushioned the drop. This lovely item is in 2 pieces ... as it should be and the results from cooking with it are exceptional
