Dirt cheap and an old model but works
1/4 of the RRP as it is about 5 years old (new old-stock, not used), but is absolutely fine quality. Only needs one USB Port, unlike some external DVDRW's. Very compact. Bought for occasional use with a 1 year old Lenovo Yoga, needs to fit in a compact pocket in a small laptop bag, and it fits all my criteria too. Well made, needs no software.

Used with yoga 2 11 fine
beautiful drive which doesn't need power supply, powers via one usb ok. used with my yoga 2 11 fine. In the past managed to blow a laptop using wrong charger, don't ask me how, got tech overload mental block, so bought this as was Lenovo compatible, was going to go for the latest on Lenovo website at far more money but this does the job for my basic needs or ripping cds and watching/listening to language dvd's.

USB DVD player
My laptop did not have a disc slot so had to purchase one to play cds and dvd's. This little attachment plays cds perfectly and after downloading a program for video playing, I not can view my DVD films perfectly

Nice product to complement your lenovo laptop
It's a simple and nice complement to my Lenovo Y50. It does it's job, looks nice, works without any installation, just plug and play. Recommend

nice and compact
Another superb bit of kit from Lenovo, nice and compact, well built, looks good and works very well, don't know about reliability as yet but I expect it to last at least as long as two previous Dell units that have given up on me in the past twelve years (about six years each).

Didn't plug and play!
The latest in a long line of things I'v bought that either don't work properly or don't work at all! Plugged and didn't play! Managed to get it to work on another computer (quite noisy when playing a DVD) but wouldn't work on my brand new desktop that it was needed for so it's gone back.

I needed to reload the Windows XP on a laptop ...
I needed to reload the Windows XP on a laptop to use the Firewire (IEEE 1394) port. Laptop had a single USB 1 port and no built in DVD/CD drive. This unit did the job perfectly - interfaced to the USB1.0 for data and power with no problems.

Cheap DVD burner that does what it says on the tin. Its for occasional use and just what I needed. May want something faster if your burning this sort of media daily.. Goes well with the new generation of PC's that don't come with an onboard optical drive.
