Great Watch, Bad Directions, Easy Fix!
I bought this watch as an early birthday present for my soon to be nine year old son. He loves to play outside with his friends but often forgets to keep track of when its time to come home. He's too young for a cell phone and too old for me to hover over him, so the other parents and I alternate who is outside watching our children play. I've explained it's not the other parents responsbility to keep tabs on the clock for him so he's carried away around a stopwatch a majority of the summer to help him.Since we've gone through our share of cheapo watches that have gotten or lost, I was hesitant to purchase him another one. Now that he's older and sees his friends wearing sports watches he's resumed interest in wearing one as well. This watch is perfect and should do the job nicely! He will love that it's a sports watch, it's digital, it has a backlight, and it's waterproof. I love that it wasn't nearly as expensive as the other ones I was suggested. Granted, I know you get what you pay for so who knows how long this will last, but at present time I've very pleased.I did read several reviews prior to purchasing this and somehow misread the ones complaining about the directions thinking they were just difficult to read. I wasn't expecting the instructions to be in Japanese! However, it's basically your average digital spts watch so I tinkered around for awhile until I was able to get the date and alarm set. I did have difficulty setting the day and calendar, but I was able to find another post that gave some great directions and wanted to share:- There are 3 buttons: Mode, Reset, and Start. (The fourth is the Light button). The instructions below assume you are in the main "time" screen.- TIME/CALENDAR: press Mode 2 seconds, then press Mode again but just 1 second. You will adjust, in this order: seconds, minutes, hours, month, day, day of the week. In each setting, you press Reset to adjust (it only goes up). Once set, press Start to move to the next setting.- 24 h vs. am/pm: press Reset and holding it pressed, press Mode to change from 24 h to am/pm (indicated with a/p on the center top).- ALARM TIMING: press Mode 2 seconds. Reset moves hours/minutes up. Start changes from hours to minutes. To exit, press Mode.- ALARM on/off. Reset shows you the alarm. By holding Reset pressed, press Start to turn the alarm on/off.- STOPWATCH. Press Mode one second. To start, press Start. To stop, press Start. Once stopped, Reset will reset it. Mode will exit.

Just okay
I bought the pink version of this watch for my daughter and this blue one for my son. This watch is the most difficult piece of equipment I have ever come across. Truly, I had three majors in college so I am not completely empty-headed and I could not for the life of me figure out this watch. Thank goodness for the reviewer who posted the company's online directions. I still cannot figure out how to keep my daughter's watch's alarm from going off at 11:50pm every few nights. That said, I purchased these watches so that my children would know when to come home in the evening and so that they could swim with them on should they neglect to take them off. They are cheap however, they do work and that was all I asked of them.

Great first watch..
My 10 year old son loves it! It fits perfectly so he wears it all the time. The settings are not too hard to figure out and it looks pretty sturdy. Glad he now grasps the concept of time.

Difficult and time wasting
When I found out that my child needed a watch for a field trip, I went online and found this one. The ratings looked very good so I went ahead and got it. Although now it retrospect, I wish I didn't put it in my cart. When we pulled it out of the box, all the detailed directions where in a foreign language. I went onto the Pasnew website and the English directions made no sense. After watching two youtube videos and visiting three websites, I gave up. Every possible way of "setting the time" only activated the stopwatch. To make it better, the first time we pulled it out of the box, the strap connecter fell off and it took an adult one hour and twenty five minutes to put it back on. If you are getting the watch for just looks, go right ahead but in any case otherwise, this watch will not work! I will say, the strap is comfortable but it is impossible to get the time set. This watch did not meet my expectations so in return I'm sending it back.

get a glass of wine before attempting to set time
The watch looks great!Unfortunately the other reviews were dead on. The waste of paper instructions drove me to become psychotic and I will guess that a few before me have probably become alcoholics all based on the stress this damn watch causes.I am at a loss that Amazon would even sell such an item. I have never experienced a more impossible device based on manufacturers instructions! You want to know how to set it, look for the instructions posted by a customer in the reviews.Good grief!
