Nordesco Rigid Kickboard

Very expensive. Would like it if they had come in a two pack.

These are absolutely great! I got one for me and one for my wife after the kickboards at the YMCA were taken away. We love the purple color, which identifies our boards. They are really rigid. The surface has a nice feel with good grip - not slippery at all. I was looking for a slightly larger board, but these turn out to be just right. I'm 156 pounds, 5'9", and had trouble with some of the smaller boards, but I think the shape and rigidity of these make them work well for me. Part of the front of the board is above water as I swim - just right. The scallop cut out along the edges is perfect for a good grip either when swimming or when I stop at the end of the lane and have to hold the board. I find it also encourages me to keep my arms and shoulders in and be flatter on the surface of the water so I go faster. My wife and I kick side by side in the middle of our workouts and we still comment on how great the boards are.

I love this kickboard. I take a Master's class 2x a week and one of the drills that our instructor showed us is the 'swish' drill. It consists of placing the kickboard between your legs kind of like a reverse dorsal fin. As you swim you try to move the board from side to side. This improves your technique as well as being good for your oblique muscles. You have to have a stiffer board to do this effectively and this board is stiff enough. The first one that I bought from another company was way too flexible and lasted less then five seconds in the pool. I sent it back. I read the reviews on this board and saw that one person had purchased it to be able to recline in his bathtub. That convinced me and I have been very happy with it. I hate kicking and the fact that I have paid for my own board gives me motivation to use it more. Needless to say this trick has improved my kick. Yellow is fine, but I wish it came in a few more colors.

I live in Hawaii and bodysurf large shore break waves. Large meaning anywhere from 10-14ft face waves. I have put this kickboard through the ringer and tested its durability on many occasions! It has never failed me. I know bodysurfing with this kickboard is not what it is intended for, but just think about it. . .if this kickboard can handle the riggers of day to day large Hawaiian waves, then you can most assuredly put a check next to the box that says "Durability"! It travels light and fast down the face of waves and holds its line exceptionally well! If Nordesco ever stops making this kickboard, I hope they give a heads up, because I will probably buy about 10 or so hahaha. Don't sleep on this bad boy, give it a shot! I absolutely love this kickboard!Pros:The rigidity of the board provides the support I need in the upper body to maintain proper form for the kick. I love the fact that it comes in different colors. At the pools where I swim, all the boards are blue, and so my yellow board stands out. The information and logo on the board is textured, and this helps when I'm counting laps in the set. I turn the board over with each lap, and keep track by the feel of the board. It keeps its form and doesn't bend like the boards at the pool. It is very hydrodynamic on the surface of the water.Cons:When I finish my kick set, I like to sink my kickboard and angle it so that it pops up out of the water onto the deck. This board is not terribly hydrodynamic underwater, and so it doesn't fly out of the pool like some others. That's a pretty stupid con, and so this board gets 5 stars from me.

I am very pleased with this kickboard. All of my swimming workouts include kicking and I needed a solid kick board. I ordered two orange ones, since I have the tendency to leave the board at the pool. Orange seemed the best color to help me remember to take it home!

Used many kick-boards as a former competitive swimmer. I think this board is great and looks swell in yellow. The slight indented sides allow your arms to fall into the board slightly, improving comfort. It is fairly stiff so no complaints there. I'm fairly muscular and 190 lbs so I don't float all that well. For perfection's sake I would probably prefer a slightly larger version maybe a "Nordesco Rigid Kickboard Plus" with 2 extra inches in length, 1 extra inch in width, and quarter inch thicker. All in all, seems well made.

my son was a little disappointed in the size, a bit small, but other than that the color is beautiful and he can still use the board just fine.
