It is as described, made well and the price is very good

Fits right in, engine gets to temp as it should and stays there.

It came as ordered and pictured and my mechanic (I Think-lol?) installed it-did not ask for gasket and I now do not remember if one came with it but not sure if tube of FIPG was useable if any left over after sealing water pump with timing belt-these guys are good so they would have left me the new part if it did not go on correctly---temp running well on Lexus GX470 and no gripes- I do see that some folks say its OEM but think for Lexus its not the original exact match but fits---I might get the Toyota certified match if doing again simply as its on so many vehicles yet its sold so often with same tAISIN 021 Timing belt kit that I am pretty sure its just as good as original if not exact...but I will repost in 6 months or year and upgrade or downgrade if any problems--

I replaced my timing belt and water pump as a preventative maintenance, so being that practically the whole front of the engine was off, it just made sense to replace the thermostat. I wasn't having any issues with the original thermostat, but a Stant is as good as it gets IMHO. It looks exactly like the Toyota thermostat and functions perfectly.

I want to start by saying that I just got home after blowing my top rad hose almost completely off my car. Thankfully my fiancé was able to run my toolbox and lots of water out to me. This thermostat worked great while the weather was under 30 degrees where I'm at though would take a while for me to get heat. As soon as the the temp outside started to warm up my temp gauge started to fluctuate up and down (overheat till the thermostat would open, then go to normal temp). I figured it might have been sticking for some reason. Nope! I can open it with my hands with enough force. I checked before install and again when I took it out on the side of the road. I think their pressure rating on this thermostat is wrong or I received a bad one. Others had good luck thats why I bought it. If you buy this just keep an eye on you gauge. Don't be an oblivious driver.This could cause serious damage to your vehicle. For any mechanic reading this, yes it was installed properly. Gasket and all. Sorry for the paragraph.
