It should work but it won't work. B.S. on ISP end.
Because of reviews and having neither, Comcast or Time Warner I ended up with the box. The tech/installer told me that the modem is no good. I was surprised because before I purchased it, I was on the phone with CableOne where they suggested I get an Arris, gave them some model numbers and we all agreed on this one. This modem and few others (ARRIS) are on their web site as a supported modems, the catch is you have to buy it from their vendor and most likely pay 2x the amount. This modem is listed for $138 where here I get it for 65. Same hardware, same I would think except firmware. Can't they send the program/firmware down the stream to my modem like they do with my other 2, (Motorola) I guess this is different because of the "phone" feature and something to do with L3 Communication (provider) some proprietary stuff. I went this time to my local office and showed them the modem, they started the activation process with no success because of the MAC/SN would not be accepted in the computer. They suggested I call corporate/toll free number to activate it. So long story short, they have a pull of MAC/Modems that will accept only and only from yourbroadbandstore dot come where again I refuse to buy from them @ 2x the price and with a lock-in to CableOne only.It would be nice to be able to use 3rd party VOIP provider @ 2-5$/month and still have broadband coming through same modem but doubt it.I will end up all services and end up with just INTERNET+TV from another provider and get OOMA (free telephone service) and call it quits.

It works...but...if you have Time-Warner...
I bought this modem because I wanted something that I could use with both my cable phone and internet. I was moving and would have Time-Warner, so I wanted to get a telephony modem that would be compatible with Time-Warner. Since TW is sending out the Arris TG862 for their telephone modem, I checked the specs on this and could see that it would be compatible. I also refuse to pay $4 a month rental fees for their modem, so this looked like a good fit. I have no problem with the modem, but TW refuses to activate this modem for their telephone service. So, I have their TG862 setting next to my TM802. The only difference between the two modems is that the TM802 does not have wireless. You're not going to get an "N" WiFi network to work at 300Mbps using the router that is built in to a combo modem/router. This is why I wanted this modem to use with my dual-band router. The reason I give this only 4 stars is that I can't rate how well the telephone part of this modem works since Time-Warner REFUSES to activate it for telephone; only for internet. I'm going to drop the TW telephone when my year is up, and then I can get rid of their telephone modem and just have the single modem. I may sell this one, and hopefully, someone who isn't on Time-Warner can take advantage of this modem's full capability. Then, I'll buy a Zoom 5341J, which seems to be the best modem going for just internet.

Scam
The modem worked perfectly until I canceled my service and the cable company demanded the modem be returned. Cablevison alleged it was never returned my previous customer. Out the money and have no modem now.

incomplete package
I got this to replace the one from comcast. The price was good, but when I received noticed that it is missing the battery. I contacted Amazon and they creditted 15% back. Battery cost is about $45 if you buy it seperately. I contacted Arris and they mentioned that TM802G comes with the battery. Why does Amazon qualifies such sellers?I have not connected the Modem yet, will be doing during the weekend.

Well worth it
I purchased this exact copy of the unit supplied by my cable company, for which they charged me $8.00 per month. With this unit, which works exactly as theirs did, I will have recouped the cost within 9 months. I have my high speed internet (50gbs download speed), and my telephone service using this modem. Service has been flawless.

Excellent modem
We bought it so that we will not pay rental fees every month to our cable company. It is an excellent product and we have not had any trouble in one year we have it.
