budget friendly nods
The media could not be loaded. Great for the price. These are not on par with professional grad NODS. But they will do everything i want for sporting and training. They are a first gen system but light weight and durable. Field of view is limited but easily adjusted to.With minor work a helmet mount can be fabricated on the chesp.

Good price for a nice gen 1 hybrid.
Lets, start this unbiased. Ive used all three generations of nvgs. Ive driven military vehicles in pvs7, ive walked in gen 3s. Every generation is an improvement over the previous. These are gen 1. But its no where close to the original ww2 nvgs mounted on panthers. These are very good for what they are. The active passive Ir is usually a gen 2 feature, to have it on gen one is unique. The big difference between these and gen 2 is the electron plate and tube materials, thats it. Its amazing how far we have progressed with technology, but nvgs are still the same price as a car down payment for anything other than a gen one. These aren't the end all cure all but no night vision is it can be defeated, for the price these are solid and the company is doing great things against the tide, i wish them all the best.

SCAM.
We paid nearly 400 for this, and what we got is stickers and a crappy iPhone case. Is this a joke? Big waste of my time. It was a gift. My husband was opening it for his birthday and he was excited and what not and guess what it is???? Some stupid stickers. This is just unbelievable.

Great Casual-Use NVG for its Cost-Point
Great item. These work very well for night vision use. They have a good field of vision, and are small and light weight + the added bonus that they use AA batteries (remember to take them out when not using, also others have recommended lithium batteries for longer run times).I have owned other gen-1 NVG for the past 12 + years (these are other; NVG binoculars, NVG target-optics, NVG mono's).KEEP IN MIND THAT these is NOT a Gen-2 or G-3 NVG Optic, so don't be ignorant and try to compare them to those (they are completely different and the significantly higher costs of the Gen-2 & Gen-3 represent the big differences). For individuals that whine about blurred vision = learn how to adjust the front focus and the back focus (adjust front first, then back second = each left & right side optic lens has a front + rear adjustment). For individuals crying about how these don't light up much in the night, see my point about these NOT being anything like Gen 2 or G-3 NVG.With moonlight and dusk/dawn light these work pretty darn good without the onboard IR on.With the on-board IR on and in-use, you will see much better (although keep in mind that the red IR will be visible to others). If you don't want the IR being visible to others, then break your wallet open and spend the much larger amount cash-money on a Gen 2 or 3.(this is the same recommendation if you want NVG bragging rights = Then spend the dough and get a gen-3 or Gen-4 PVS14 in white phosphorous). For those that want more visibility with the IR, I suggest purchasing a larger IR illuminator and using it in tandem with these binoculars. If you are going to try and mount these on a head gear apparatus or helmet, then I suggest going with the 1x24 (not the 2x24) for the better field of nearby vision. For the current price point = BUY + BUY + BUY a set of these!

Love them except for the damnd battery cap!!!
I just needed something to keep an eye on my meth addicted neighbor... I didn’t really research site mark and the various items and would have preferred the larger 24x50? Any way I didn’t want to spend ten grand just to see my neighbor barking at the moon. The only real problem with these is that damnd little screw out piece to change the batteries...it drives me nuts because it’s so hard to put back in and the aaas have to go in the right direction ...after two years of using these it still has me cursing the engineers...otherwise very impressive binoculars

Great fun.
This is my first pair of NVGs so I don't have anything to compare with BUT, I would say that these are perfect for someone who wants to explore this new world that goes unseen most of the time. I'm not sure the full extent of their versatility but I could see myself using them quite often. Very easy to use, 2 AAA batteries and your ready for action. The field of view is a little narrow but as a first timer I didn't care. Great fun for the money. Now to find the right head mount gear.
