Light & Motion has been proudly designing and manufacturing innovative, high-quality bike lights since the early 1990’s in Monterey Bay, California. They have been a leader in the industry since the beginning--pushing for higher product standards, integrating rechargeable batteries, and converting to premium Cree LEDs for the best light quality. The Taz 2000 is the most impressive and sought-after primary MTB light due to its high output and broad beam pattern. Most lights of its kind require a corded battery, but not the Taz. The battery integrated design makes it frustration free to mount and recharge after rides. Mounting is uncomplicated, using a low-profile heavy-duty rubber strap that fixes tightly to the handlebar for technical single-track riding. It also comes with a GoPro mount if you prefer to mount the light off the bar. Other safety features include optional amber colored side lights that emit 180 degrees of visibility--great for riding on the roads on the way to the trail. A color coded battery indicator gives the rider the battery’s charge status during use and while recharging. The integrated Li-Ion battery can be recharged using the provided Micro USB cable and Fast Charge technology (FC) allows the light to recharge in 4 hours when using a 2A adapter. A minimal . 5A will charge the light in 6 hours. This means you can use your phone charger, computer, laptop, and most other USB power sources to charge the light wherever you may be. The unit is also tested to withstand repeated 1 meter drops on concrete and is fully waterproof for rainy days or muddy conditions. To the satisfaction of every customer, Light & Motion backs each product with a 2-year from manufacturing defects and faulty workmanship. Beyond that they are able to repair and replace lights for a nominal fee. They have online resources to find manuals and troubleshoot issues as well as an excellent customer care team.

Battery Life
I gave this a 2 star review and am changing to a 4 star review - here is why.My mistake was not understanding the light sequence that shows the remaining battery life. During my rides, the light was (in my opinion) quickly going to a "red" status and I figured that the end was near. After my review, I thought I should put a bit more effort into studying the total time so I set up an experiment using my Nest camera. I did this test twice, so the numbers were verified. Both tests were done with the light on the medium setting. This is what I use most frequently and is what Light & Motion claims to last 3 hours.I started with a fully charged light and did the test inside - not sure how temperature would affect the battery. Here are the results:StartGreen Light - 35 minutesYellow Light - 35 minutesSolid Red Light - 35 minutesSlow Blinking Red Light - 30 minutesFast Blinking Red Light - 40 minutesEnd - Light goes offTotal time is 175 minutes - about exactly the 3 hours they claim. I suggestion is that the lights should stay on the green and yellow lights longer. Maybe it's just me, but when the light was going to red, I thought the end was near.

Great Quality
This light is pretty much exactly what I needed to pair with my handle bar light for night rides. I've also used it attached to my helmet for night skiing. The battery life is pretty spot on to what the manufacturer says it is, but always toggle between low and med when you don't need its full power to increase its longevity. My only thumbs down on this is that it is a little heavy using it on a helmet, but with that said that's exactly how I will be using it so that shouldn't deter you from buying it.

TAZ IS TOP POSSESSION I'M GLAD I INCREASED OVERTIME, DECREASED EXPENSES AND SAVED PATIENTLY FOR
None of the competitors flagship lights are near the design and engineering of this light from what I see. I'm not near a Baller Shot Caller and don't get many flagship products but when I saw the previous generation TAZ I was like "THAT IS SO RELATIVELY AMAZING LOOKING AND THE SPECS ARE EVEN MORE RELATIVELY AMAZING THAN THAT TO ANY OTHER FLAGSHIP BIKE LIGHT!!!" AND OH YOU CAN'T IMAGINE ENTHUSIASTIC COMPLIMENTS ON MY PREVIOUS GENERATION TAZ ON MY PREVIOUS BLACK FUJI!!! And when my cheap Fuji I named Brooklyn was stolen with my previous generation TAZ I named Annie I was devastated about losing both equally. I saved up for a TAZ2000 I named Wonderful Wonderful Woman and layed away a flagship Trek for her and I named her Lovely Lovely Lady.

No Strobe mode
I am used to a Cygolite Trion 1300, which had to be replaced because the cheap mount failed for the umteenth time and the light was lost. The Tax 2000 has a nicer mounting system, but I really dislike the daylight conspicuity mode. Rather than strobing in a bright and annoying mode, the Taz just changes intensity in a soothing manner.

Failed on first ride- returning it!
I’m an experienced rider and wanted a brighter light for early morning and very dark training rides. I usually use a Cygolyte 850. This new light uses a rubber strap mount which is inferior to cygolyte quick disconnect hard mount. The strap is PIA. While the Light in Motion light is bright, it started to flicker and go crazy after 45 min on the next to highest setting and then shut off in the middle of my ride in the front of a Fast Paceline. I can’t have a light fail like this so it’s going back and I’ll never buy from this company again. I can’t afford to have a light fail in the pitch black dark with 15 people on my wheel at 30mph. And yes it was fully charged overnight.

A great deal for bike safety
This bike light is bright enough to let you see clearly the front 50 meters. I feel safer with it in the night. Money worths!

Get 'em While They're Hot
This light is very bright but it gets extremely hot so hot that it melted the clear lens. I returned this light immediately after seeing how hot it gets.
