Kettler Metal Basket for Kettler Kettrikes Tricycles

My 19 month old daughter absolutely LOVES this basket. Other reviewers complained about it being too small and that it is easily removed, but I don't agree with the first, and the second isn't a problem for me. My daughter fits her Elmo doll, a sippy cup, and some snacks into this front basket when we go to the park. It is the perfect size for this trike... any bigger and it would look absurd. Although this basket an be removed by a toddler, it doesn't move around while on the trike... it sits over the handle bars and has a U joint that rests beneath the handle bars. I plan to purchase a nameplate with my daughter's name and zip-tie it to the front, covering the "kettler" sticker logo. Overall, this basket adds a lot of fun, functionality, and style to the trike. I also purchased the red and black metal bell and it's cute, has a great sound, and I only had to show my daughter how to ring it a couple of times before she got it all by herself...I highly recommend both.

Great to have some space to put a few things but it is pretty small if you're looking to avoid a backpack. My biggest issue is that it can be easily pulled off by the toddler riding in it and once the game starts of taking it off, the rest of the ride home is a frustrating power play. I've just carried it on more than a few occasions. I keep meaning to use a couple zip ties to secure it but always forget. Also wish the basket had come with the bike, along with a seatbelt, which seems like a reasonable expectation considering the price of the bike.

I absolutely love this basket fit perfectly on my bike made really well held a lot and fit extremely secure totally recommend.

It look fairly large in the image - and as a matter of fact you can place maybe a wallet with this small basket.It's too expensive for the size and I had to return the item

Hi Folks,Trying to clear up possible confusion over the mixed reviews on this product and perhaps save anyone the same trouble. I acquired a "older" KETTRIKE HAPPY NAVIGATOR with green wheel covers, no basket though:(Because I'm fairly mechanical I ignored the negitive reviews ablout fit and I purchased this basket to go with it without realizing that there has been a bit of an update to the handlebar shape on the Kettrikes. Not sure what year they changed, you could probably contact Kettrike USA and get the details. Basically, if your Kettrike has V shaped handlebars that come straight up from the stem, this basket will fit as intended by the manufacturer. If your handlebars are flat and bent back a little toward the rider and the 'stem' is bent a little forward (or away from the rider) this basket will not fit well and requires some ingenuity to get it to work even remotely well.Hope this helps and happy trails!

We purchased this basket for the Kettler Happy Air Navigator Bike and the basket has held up well! The basket is a sturdy basket and the paint has held up well. My only con for it that it comes off the bike really easily but we were able to attach it with a tie clip but doing it this way you cannot remove the basket unless cut the clip. We do not have a need to remove the basket as we are satisfied with leaving the basket attached. Yes, I would recommend this basket but make sure you know that you will have to tie the basket down so it will not come off.

I purchased this item for my 4 yr old son who really wanted a basket for his bike. My search at local stores turned up either baskets geared to girls or adult bike baskets. This is a great gender-neutral item. My son is excited about being able use it to tote a water bottle, balls & even a sweatshirt when biking around the neighbourhood. We used it for a Giant Animator bike & the fit is just fine.

If I had it to do again I would not buy this basket; the yellow storage bucket at the back provides ample storage room, and the basket is just something that comes off easily and frustrates both my toddler and me. Don't bother with this product.
