Plantronics Pulsar 590A Bluetooth Headset

I like the style and comfort of the headset, and the sound quality was very good. The multipoint function did not work. It was easily paired with multiple devices, but would only connect and respond to one at a time. It was suppose monitor and to respond to incoming calls on either paired device(I was using a it with a laptop and a bluetooth telephone (wired bluetooth desk phone in the office and a cell phone in the field), and be able to answer calls from either device. The one I received would only respond to calls on the last device it had been paired with. I have returned it, and looking forward to receiving it's replacement (same model), It was a no questions asked return for either an exchange or refund.

It's been years since I first used one of these headsets, which were tremendously expensive when they were released, and they're still the best bluetooth headsets ever made in my opinion for people that want an actual high-quality stereo headset with a mic.- They're fairly light- They're highly adjustable- The sound quality is good- Battery life is good- You can replace the foam on them as it wears out (replacement foam cups cost about $1 each online for generic 50mm size)- They come with a drop-in charging stand- Sound quality for whomever you're speaking to is also good- There are volume controls, track controls, and a mute button on the actual headset- The mic is retractableI've tried a bunch of others and keep coming back to these, which is tough because they're getting very old now and finding replacements (they wear out every 2-3 years) is increasingly difficult. If you find a pair, expect to have to replace the foam cups right away, as they will have degraded over time into a kind of goo. Use a toothpick or a needle or something to generally clean out the decomposed foam from the crevices before putting new foam on.But as of now, I still have yet to find a replacement for everything these have to offer. I think in most cases bluetooth headsets this good aren't sold these days because they're expensive to produce at this level (these were over $300 when first released) and manufacturers have realized that most consumers aren't willing to pay that much for a bluetooth headset.Upside for shoppers now: if you can find a pair these days in new old stock condition, you can pick up what were once $300+ bluetooth headphones for far less than a third of that price.

I realized this was an older unit, but liked the format of how the headset looked and functioned. A co-worker of mine owned one of these units. The stereo quality of the unit works great, but when switching into voice mode, audio changes to mono-mode (even when connecting with a MacBook Air) and the mic quality is so so and cuts out for periods of time. I'm on Skype a large portion of the day and had to revert back to my old headset after just 1 call. I love the wireless nature of this headset, but with poor voice quality that's a deal breaker for me. Additionally I have some hearing loss so that makes it a bit harder for me with lower quality audio.

This has been hands down the absolute best headset I have ever owned - I eventually bought every one I could find and now, finally, the last one has fallen apart despite the glue and solder.They were not tough and they did last through fairly rough daily use for years but the most important thing is this - there is nothing on the market any longer which comes close to comparing.

I bought the Plantronics 590A with dongle, worked great for just over a year. Paid $108, then the battery quit accepting a charge. Called Plantronics for replacement, they wanted more than I paid for the unit to replace the battery. I'll never buy another Plantronics anything again. Now I see they've almost doubled the price. Unbelievable!

As always plantronics this headset is awesome! Sound is second to none and extremely comfortable. Charge lasts all day literally. Televesion, movies, ipod, ps3 games and incoming calls from the cell phone sound amazing! The headset transfers back and forth from music to incoming calls and back very nicely. Caller never even knew i was on a wireless bluetooth headset without being told. Would definitely recommend this set and i would buy these again.

Bought extra headset for home, easy to sync with iPhone/iPod/iPad. Excellent sound and fit. Lasts 10 hours for music..charges within hours:-)

This headset exceeded all expectations for three years. I had multiple colleagues buying the same equipment due to my advocacy. I am using this daily, hours on end for work and travel. Pairing is excellent, sound quality great and you can wear it for hours. After two years the earpads started to disintegrate, no biggy. But now the plastic is chipping off piece by piece, the matrial has become soft. Glueing is not an option. The left earpiece has now fallen off. Sound quality is still excellent, the battery still lasts for days. But I can't put the thing on my head anymore. And Plantronics doesn't sell anything similar anymore: stereo, BT, over the ear.

Excellent quality headset which is great for work conference calls and social alike. I would highly recomment this product to anybody. Many thanks. Jkc
