New perhaps, but not Fresh.
I destroyed my year old phone by mistakenly swimming with it (about 5 minutes underwater did it in). So I went back to my old phone. I found that it would only hold a charge for about a day where it had lasted three or four a year and a half before. I decided to get a new battery and keep the phone until my opportunity to get a free or reduced price phone came up again towards the end of the year. The price was very good when compared to others, and in spite of many poor or mediocre reviews, I figured my total cost (around ten bucks) was low and some were highly satisfied--I could be lucky as well. O.K. I took a chance and it didn't work out. The battery was not "new"...not even close. The manufacturing date was 2008, and had a sticker covering part of the front which said "WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED. Aside from the strange sticker it didn't look beat up in any way, so I charged it up overnight and it was fully charged and working fine the next day. But by bed-time it was showing less than 50% full. Tried another night and day...and did for about a week or so with no improvement. Decided to email the company explaining my situation. They immediately sent another battery and told me I didn't have to return mine. The replacement battery also had a 2008 date, and the WARRANTY sticker on the face, and lasted about a day. I'm guessing they got a special price on some outdated batteries and while they may not really be new, in terms of mfg. date, they can be called "new" in terms of their not being used before. I'll be getting a new phone around November, so I don't want to try another source to see if a really fresh battery (at triple the price or more) would work as when the phone was new. In fairness, the product does work (albeit for a short time vs. a fresh new battery) the price was quite low, and a replacement was sent quickly and free of charge. So even though the battery did not perform like a truly fresh new one it does work, so I gave it two stars rather than one.

Excellent price but lower quality
First of all, I hate that I even had to be in the market for a new cell phone battery after 2 years. For previous phones, I have never had a problem with my battery after two years and usually ended up getting a new phone with my new cell phone agreement, so I never ran into this issue. However, I can't complain completely because I had heard that razor's batteries died more quickly, but had been told this model of phone had greatly improved.Nevertheless, I found myself in the market for a new battery after my existing battery would need to be recharged after using it for 10 minutes. I was super stoked when I found out I could buy a brand new battery for about $8, including shipping. I even laughed at my friends who went back to the cell phone service's store and bought a new battery for about $30 or $40.When the battery arrived, I was a little surprised because it wasn't in packaging. It was just in a plastic baggie, like a sandwich bag. Not a huge deal, but still a little weird. I would've expected a new battery to be in hard plastic shell that you have to figure out how to scissor or cut open to get to it. Not so. Also, although it's hard to tell, it seems that this battery dies more quickly than the original did in its prime. Obviously it works a lot longer than the original battery on its last leg, for which I am very thankful. Without being able to go back in time and compare batteries, I can't be 100% sure, but it does seem to be more at 85% than 100%, as you would anticipate for a new battery. For the price, it is a good solution, especially considering that I don't plan to keep this phone for another 2 years.

Worth a Shot
I purchased this as a replacement battery for my dad. It came 1/2 charged and worked just fine. It has been a few months and there are no complaints from Dad. It holds the charge and lasts through the day. The price was pretty sweet too--considering a new battery at our local VZ shop was about $50, plus a stocking fee of $18 because the phone was an older model that is no longer available.I know that not everyone's experience may be the same, but it is worth a shot. For us this battery was a needed item and we saved a TON of money by getting a cheaper replacement that works just as good. Also, I did notice finger prints on the battery and the crummy packaging it came in. However, everything seemed to be in order and the fingerprints didn't seem to affect the battery functions and effectiveness. When I ordered it did not specify that it was a NEW battery--just that it was a replacement. Perhaps they are refurbishing old batteries?

Cell Phone Battery
It took awhile to figure out what the real problem was. My phone kept going dead. I took it to the Verizon store and the young man suggested that the battery was the problem, so I ordered this new battery and installed it. When I tried to charge it, the phone was still dead. I ordered a new phone and tried to charge it. The phone was still dead. I charged it in the car, and it worked! So, I figured the problem was the charger, but I kept the new phone anyway and saved the new battery, but continued to use the old one. After a few weeks, I realized that the phone was not keeping the charge, even with the new charger, so I installed the new battery. Voila! I now have a phone that charges properly and doesn't lose half the charge on one call. I am delighted with my new battery. And it was less than $5.00!
