Yes, it's another clicker... BUT
This one is a welcome addition to my remote collection. It performs absolutely as advertised; mutes both in timed increments from the large button, as well as a simple manual mute from the smaller button. So much easier to grab than trying to locate the mute button from either of the cable box or the TV clickers — way too many buttons on those things! I found it easy to sync the remote to the TV, (a note: the digital reading showed a five-digit code, not four, as described in the user manual; I just overlooked the first 0, and the first code I entered synced immediately). It performs exactly as I had anticipated... this little device will come in VERY handy during the next election season!

It's just a giant mute button, that's it
I am returning it. The description of the product made it seem a lot more advanced than it really is. It's basically just a giant mute button that has a timer option attached. I don't need a separate remote just to mute my TV. I thought it he'd some type of sensor on it or something that would automatically mute during commercials. However, I couldn't even get the timer function to work on it and I tried every single code the manual gave me. Just not impressed with the product.

nice design, good job
Works for me. I thought it was strange that it was not programmable for a custom time but I have noticed that certain shows change length of commercial breaks based on when they occur in the hour. So once you get the rhythm of the show you just know how many presses to use. If you guess wrong, no big deal, just hit the mute button yourself to toggle. Other thing you get trained on is after initiating a timed mute session be sure to put the mutedaddy down pointed towards the tv so it can toggle at the end of the time. (Duh!)Assuming I need the info when the battery needs replaced I suggest they put the table of tv manufacturer codes in a pdf on the internet somewhere since I know I am going to lose the piece of paper that comes with the mutedaddy. I fixed this by just writing the number that I know works on the back.

Mute Annoying Commercials
Right out of the box, I had trouble with the initial setup. I couldn't get my TV code entered. After about 30 minutes of reading and rereading the instructions going through the steps again and again with no success, I just about given up.But there is one more thing I thought I should try out of curiosity. I switched out the batteries even though the batteries that came with the product was supposedly new. After doing this the product work as expected. I had no other problems. I'm now able to mute annoying commercials and automatically the unit will un-mute itself... Nice!

I wish it had a 4 minute button for CNN commercial breaks.
Pushing the mute button eight times is a drag.

Works ... BUT
In my opinion, MuteDaddy is an example of a great idea being over-thought.Something ruined the great concept of giving people a BIG, easy to access, mute button so they could block annoying commercials.I don't know if was an assumption about how people use the TV mute button or just creating a feature that fits the assumption the manufacturer made about people muting commercials. For me, MuteDaddy is a fail. The function of that big, beautiful, white mute button has a major flaw. That big, white mute button only functions with a "Timer" feature and the actual muting takes about 2 seconds to actually work. Why?The Timer is set up for 30-second increments. Press once for 30 seconds, twice for 60 seconds and so on.I don't know how long any commercial break is going to be - does anyone?Basically, you have to guess how many time you need to press the mute button in order to mute the commercials and not your program. Not easy, not fun.If you guess wrong and your program comes on before the timer releases the mute feature you can manually un-mute. And that leaves me asking - what's the advantage in guessing how long a commercial break will last versus just muting and unmuting manually?Over several weeks of using the MuteDaddy - I guessed right four times. The rest of the time I had to either add time or un-mute manually. So much simpler if you could just mute and un-mute with that big, white button. This "timed mute" feature is completely explained in the product guide. It is not made all that clear in the product description on Amazon. My bad for not watching the video and doing more research.A clearer description of functionality, up front and on Amazon, would have been nice.MuteDaddy may fill a need for some but not for me.

Handy device
This is great solution to an annoying problem. I've really come to love this device and it's a must for me when I'm watching tv now. I have always hated commercials and simply don't want to hear them. Now I enjoy little quiet breaks when the commercials come on and I love it. At the start of the commercial break you simply hit the big button 8 times. This mutes the tv for 240 seconds (4 minutes) which is pretty much the length of most commercial breaks. Most of the time the timer un-mutes the tv just as the program I'm watching comes back on. I'm speared from having to hear annoying hip hop or companies pushing political agendas. I will be buying another.
