First Android Device
I own an iPhone, iPad and Surface Pro but wanted a smaller, in between size, device. Was considering a Dell Venue 8, but the lack of LTE except in Win RT devices was a deal breaker. So I researched all the devices and settled on this. The price was very reasonable and the 2nd generation of this device has some nice additions; better screen and dual cameras. I am not disappointed. The Verizon connected instantly, which is a first for me and although the Android has a learning curve, I am picking it up quickly. I feel that Apple is not moving forward these days and can see why Android has a strong following. Nice selection of apps and getting better all the time. This device has a stellar screen and is really a nice size for portable carry. The Poetic case I bought is great as well. I look forward to becoming an expert Android user.On a side note, most people don't realize that the Microsoft Surface Pro has the quickest boot time - about four seconds. Beats any other tablet and is a full PC. Not bad.

Great Tablet that can use any G4 LTE Provider and is easy to Root
I got this working with T-Mobile via simply adding their micro SIM card and having them activate it. No need to use Verizon Wireless. This unit is unlocked, despite the Verizon documentation that came with the unit. As I understand it, 4G LTE should work with any service provider, unless the software was crippled to allow only the frequencies used by a single service provider. Aesthetically, I don't like the screen borders that appear narrow on top and wide on the bottom to a accommodate the return, home and recent apps buttons (this is in landscape mode which should be the default, but is not). I like the lack of pre-installed apps that can't be removed which nearly all tablet and phone makers provide. This unit should be easy root, but ran into trouble following nexus7root.com instructions; the XDA web site instructions (but the video is dated) worked smoothly to provide root access.

Google Nexus 7 32 LTE Verizon
Verizon doesn't fully load the the KitKat OS as it still is blocking phone, text messaging and video chat. The other carriers do. The only drawback with the Tablet itself is they forgot the SD card slot. Returning it as it proves useless to my needs at 60%.

Nice tablet but only for Verizon's 4G network
Everyone knows that the Nexus is a great tablet. This one is shipping with Android 4.4.2 which makes it about as modern as is possible. My gripe is that the cellular data coverage only works on verizons 4G LTE network. It will not work on their 3G or other data signals. That means that it will never be reliable in the countryside. If you never leave the city or want to use the device in a fixed place with 4G you'll be OK. Of course,it has WiFi but you dont buy this tablet for that.

A great value on a Tablet/phone
The Nexux 7 is a quality unit. Even though it has been 5 years since its debut, it still has the power to compete. Additionally, it is easy to root and you can even install a later Android version, like Lineage, or even UbuntuTouch. It comes with Android 6, which has little bloatware and is easy to use. It is nice to have a bigger screen for phoning too.

This might be good for arthritis people to use it. Most others r little bit heavy.
I still like this one, this is my second one. First one I bought it was back 2014. This is very light to use it, I have arthritis on both wrists so, I'm happy with this one.
