Had a $300 over range GE microwave that just stopped ...
Had a $300 over range GE microwave that just stopped heating was about to buy a new one for $300+ and decided to try to fix it instead after some research on how to replace the diode I opened it up and had it fixed in about 15 minutes with a $9 part. WARNING DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE WORKING ON A MICROWAVE or have someone who knows what they're doing fix it for you. The 2100 volt capacitor if not discharged properly can kill you. Just to put it into perspective the power coming from your wall socket is 110 volts. If the 2100 volts from a capacitor hits you on the wrong part of your heart cycle (repolarization of the ventricles) it will stop your heart.

Diode worked
Worked for my GE microwave oven! My oven produced a strong plastic burning smell each time when it was turned on. After I installed a new capacitor and the new diode, it was fixed.

it worked, Back to gourmet cusine
this appeared to be a direct replacement at a more competitive price.I replaced the magnetron first since it was damaged.( I should have checked with Amazon, they had better pricing.)but our GE microwave didn't work until I replaced the diode as well.Simple repair....a caveman could have fixed it
