Yes, non synthetic and no limited slip additive either.

Owners manual says use gl-5 80w-90 oil for the rear diff. of my 1985 monte carlo ss without limited slip. though it says it doesn’t fit my vehicle..??

I think it would be fine. This was a widely used fluid by General Motors for years. I used it on a1977 Corvette with limited slip, and the only difference is I had to add a small bottle of limited slip fluid to the gl-5 80w90. If that is what your owners manual calls for I would feel confident using it. Good luck.
