Is this really worth the price? The freestyle2 is more than 2 times cheaper and lasts 3 years. Will this last 6.8 years?

I'm don't have a "Freestyle2 Keyboard", but I'm a long term user of a Kinesis Freestyle Pro with Cherry MX Red Quiet switches. The answer to your question is "It depends on your use case". The main difference between these two is that "Freestyle Pro" has mechanical switches. The mechanical switches is a big game changer not only because it fells better but also because it is healthier for your fingers ergonomics. The problem of non mechanical switches is that when you type using it you king of strum your fingers on the desk which has a bad effect on your finger joints. But still the question "Does this ergonomic improvements worth its money?" holds. You need to consider your use case. I'm myself a professional programmer and I spend up to 10 hours per day typing on my keyboard. For my use case having mechanical key switches makes a huge difference. Also the high price can be easily justified by the fact that I can be productive for more amount of time. Speaking of "how long this keyboard can last". In my opinion it can easily last for 8 years, even more, but only if you take care of it. But in my opinion, if you really use this keyboard intensively you will probably spill the coffee on it or drop it from the table or it gets worn out because you constantly carry it in your backpack from a home to an office. Therefore, even though technically it can last for so long, I wouldn't count on it just because in real life there are lots of thing which can happen with the keyboard during its usage. Therefore, my opinion is that if you use a keyboard a lot it worth paying more for Freestyle Pro.
