Good product for the money, I am a novice but it works well and can handle a variety of sizes.

When you get this item don't start doing splicing before you polish down the edges. The edge will cut strands in the line.

I wanted a larger fid for a bunch of splicing I’m doing in 3/4” three strand for dock lines & an anchor rode. It’s a simple tool and it would have gotten a better review had it not arrived with a sharp burr near the tip and a very sharp edge down most of one side of the fid. These were easily taken down and polished with some fine sandpaper I had on hand but the problem with these flaws on this tool are obvious.

Such a great set of rope tools! We were a little unsure of what we were going to get bc they were so inexpensive and the quality far exceeded our expectations. Once we received the large one, we were so happy we bought the small and medium one! These are definitely the tools to buy if you are in the market for rope tools!!

What I received is NOT as pictured! I specifically paid more money to get what appeared was a more smooth wood thumb rest. It’s not!! Don’t waste your money on this one. I have no idea how I’m going to sand the wood down so my thumb can even fit! And…I am female with medium sized hands - so guys - forget it!

What a great tool. I braid eye splices into my shrimp pot lines. They are tightly wound leaded line and tough on the fingers to braid. This tool made it very easy and fingers were not sore. I put off doing this last set of shrimp pot lines as my fingers hurt for days after. Not with this tool!
