It just works.
PLEASE NOTE That when I ordered this I ended up receiving this about two days after my Amazon Prime ship date. It does ship in two days AFTER about two days of processing. The Amazon rep who contacted the company said they were taking extra time to package the product due to complaints of them arriving damaged.Ok and on to the product itself. There isn't much to say really. It just works and it works really well. The build quality is great (way above most in that price) the quick release is a terrific feature and especially for what this is priced for there just isn't anything that compares at this price. Plus if you ever lose the plate they sell it separately. The magnification works well and everything is very clear and the eye piece is comfortable and solid material. It fits the Canon T4i I bought it for and its a very welcome addition to my gear. Overall, for the price I don't think you can do any better and its probably one of the best gear purchases I've ever made.

Sony A6000 owners...You Need THIS!!!!
After several reviews I felt compelled to buy this product. The product is just as described and I'm sooooooo glad I followed that compelling force. I'm not going to repeat all of the GREAT THINGS that have already been stated and bragged upon.....BUT I would like to mention and important factor about the device for all the Sony A6000 users that may be contemplating purchasing this product. I was interested in a product like this because the A6000 let's in a lot of light through the eyepiece which affects your display in the viewfinder...plus I wear glasses so that doesn't help either. So I desperately needed a remedy for this issue..Firstly you definitely will need to purchase and "L" Bracket. If not the device will not mount correctly. It leaves space on the bottom which still allows light to enter the viewing area. This was stated in the review that I previewed. But what wasn't stated is that you will not be able to use the tripod collar on the 70-200mm f4 FE G lens. The mounting plate sticks out towards the front of the camera where you mount the lens....That;s a problem me me because I shoot sports and I use a monopod to assist me in camera shake and also to assist in having the camera in a ready position instead of coming from a draw with the rapid sling. Also it easier and quicker to rotate the camera while keeping your hand on the zoom ring to compose your shot on the fly. So I guess I will have to buy an adapter to mount to my monopod so I can go from landscape to portrait mode. This is why I didn't give it 5 stars. I understand that this is a universal device and it fulfills that part of its duties. But not bieng able to change orientation from a monopod is slightly disappointing. BUT DON"T GET IT TWISTED... I like it so much I'm going to order another one for my A7 as well. Be advised that the device will not work with a battery grip attached to the A7 and from what I can tell you DO NOT need and "L" Bracket for it to work...Unfortunately I can't guarantee it will work with one...but by the way it mounted to the A6000 I would gamble that it will wwork on the A7 with a "L" Bracket. The product is amazing, well built, feels good, looks professional and makes your LCD screen POP!!!!! OH BTW make sure you go into your menu options "Custom Settings" #3 "Finder/Monitor and choose monitor only, because if you leave it in "AUTO" the device will activate the sensors on the eyepiece and give it a reading like your eye is on it.I have Easter Baseball Tournament's to shoot next week and I'm really excited about using this product. BE AT PEACE!!!!!Here's the link to the "L" Bracket that I purchase from Amazon.... http://www.amazon.com/Quick-Release-Vertival-Bracket-Camera/dp/B00U5VTNFC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00it fit the A6000 EXTREMELY WELL and has opening to get to your battery,SD card and side jacks..Also the device doesn't interfere with the functionality of the buttons on the back of the camera. But you will need to remove the eyepiece from the A6000

Good device, but camera controls obstructed.
I bought this for my Nikon 7100. Quality and workmanship were great. However, the device covered the control buttons on the camera.I'm returning this and looking for another product.

Great Value Viewfinder!
I absolutely love this thing. Just what I needed to help me focus outside (or inside even) with much better accuracy than just using the LCD screen.Out of the box you get: the viewfinder (packed in bubble wrap), the base-plate which fits larger fluid tripod heads and has fittings for standard tripods, a hex wrench, a laynard, and a cleaning cloth. No instructions needed for this device, simply attach the base plate to your camera (don't tighten fully so that you can adjust). The viewfinder snaps into place with a decently strong magnet and guide. The horizontal placement of the viewfinder is adjusted using the hex wrench and a small screw located at the base of the eyepiece. Vertical alignment is achieve with the thumbscrews located on either side of the eyepiece. I had it attached and in use in about 5 minutes out of the box.PROS:Magnification: 2.5 times is plenty and this item has great clarity and little distortion.Reversible eyepiece: easy to remove eye cup for use on either eye.Easy adjustments and comfortable to wear.** Eyeglass friendly: I wear glasses all the time, so I was worried that I would have to take them off to use this. NOT the case. My glasses fit comfortable in the eye cup. Something to note... without my glasses on, there was a bit of blur for me. I'm 20/80 nearsighted. I wear black horn-rimmed glasses and they fit in there comfortably. I have not used this for a long day yet, so comfort remains to be determined over long periods.Construction seems sturdy, don't imagine it breaking easily. Well-made.Pop-up eyepiece- Makes for easy access to view the LCD screen normally.Looks professional- When coupled with my 6D, my Morros Rig with video light and RODE mic, it looks like a very professional set-up (great for pros).CONS:- Does not work with battery grip. Not enough reach. I have both my 6Ds gripped, but when I do video, I remove the grip because it's bulky on my rig. So, not really a problem for me, but others might want to be aware.- The vertical adjustment thumb screw on the right hand side covers the left hand portion of the multi-selector on the back of the camera. However, this was expected as can be seen from the pictures. I knew it was going to be in the way, but I can still navigate my menus, just can not use the 'left' button. Probably can just remove the thumb screw and wouldn't be a problem, but I don't feel it's that much of a nuisance.- Orange Colors - really more of my own personal preference, but I don't like the color of the ring and thumbscrews. Wish they were black.Even with the cons mentioned, I don't think it deserves to be dinged a full star. REALLY REALLY REALLY wish Amazon would revamp the rating system and allow half stars or some other way to not have to select between 4 and 5 star ratings only.

NOT for Pentax "Q"
This works very poorly with my Pentax Q-7 for three reasons:(1) the orange devices that adjust the height of the viewfinder prevent me from touching the rear controls on the camera(2) the strong metal spar that connects the viewfinder to the camera is so long that it interferes with the Pentax K-mount to Q-mount adapter(3) the screw that attaches the spar to the tripod connector on the bottom of the camera is an actual slotted screw - not the usual device - so it would be difficult to add/remove in the field
