G-Project G-Boom Wireless Bluetooth Boombox Speaker Rugged Portable Speaker with Rechargeable Battery (Black)

I was more or less clueless and confused when I starting looking for a bluetooth speaker to amplify the Amazon Echo Dots we have in our playroom and TV room. I had no idea what to look for or how to evaluate the ones I was seeing. It's hard enough buying regular speakers, but even harder when you're trying to make sense out of bluetooth features, etc... So, I read reviews, top ten lists, speaker guides and anything else I could track down. I was still pretty confused.Somewhere along the way I read about the G-BOOM. At around $100, it was slightly more than I wanted to spend, but people raved about the sound and for my noisy family, great sound is critical if only to be able to hear over shouting children and loud toys. Since the G-BOOM portable, I decided to just buy a single speaker, instead of buying two cheaper speakers.A few months in and it's been perfect for our needs.PROS: It's very loud. Not unpleasantly loud where you feel your heart beating, but rather loud enough that I don't need to crank up the volume all the way. It's incredibly strong and that additional power makes me eager to take this out to the beach or park. I have no doubt it will live up to our outdoor needs with the amount of sound I'm getting from it. Our first test is an outdoor children's party in May, for which we've decided that G-BOOM can cover all our music amplification needs.Beyond its power, the sound is crisp, clear and the overall quality it great. I wouldn't compare this with a Bose or Sonos, but it exceeds our expectations for a medium-sized, PORTABLE speaker. Right now, it's a great speaker to use in our playroom with the flexibility that I can EASILY move it to another room when I need it elsewhere. You simply unplug it and grab the handle. When we're not using it, it's nice to have the AC adaptor to ensure it's always charged.We love it. We're using it like crazy. I didn't think our Amazon Echo setup could get any better, but this is the PERFECT accessory to maximize the sound and overall experience.CONS: The buttons are confusing if you have to turn bluetooth on and off. There are simply lights in the front, but it can be confusing to know what each light means. I've rarely had to worry about any buttons other than On/Off and the volume.

Before purchasing the G-BOOM Speaker, I did a lot of research on Bluetooth speakers in the market. Unfortunately, most of them focus on size rather than sound quality, so many are very portable but not very...listenable. I'm a big music fan and was hoping to find a good quality product that could produce some great sound. I decided to give the G-BOOM speaker a try and I'm glad I did! I've owned this speaker for over two years now and even bought an additional one for my dad.While it's not as small as other speakers, it's still very portable, with a built-in handle and rubber feet for setting down on rough surfaces. In most cases, I use this speaker when working in the garage or outside. I own multiple android devices (tablet, phone) and have never had any issues when pairing with the speaker. The battery life is very good as well, as it will last about 6 hours or so with every charge. The battery time does depend on the volume of the music, which can vary of course.Let's talk about sound quality. WOW. Compared to other tiny Bluetooth speakers, it blows pretty much everything else out of the water. You are sacrificing the ability to put it into your backpack, but if you like your music to sound good, and you like to crank it up, this unit will not disappoint you. I really enjoy using it and have had it outside for multiple picnics/parties and its always sounded great.Pros:+ GREAT sound quality+ Easy to pair with Bluetooth devices+ Built-in controls to pause, skip, etc+ Nice handle and rugged design for outdoor use+ Good battery lifeCons:- Built-in battery (not sure how many years/charges the battery will handle)If you are looking for a quality Bluetooth speaker and don't care about it being a little bit bigger, the G-BOOM is where it's at.
