Really cool floor fans
Just loving these fans. Bought 2 MAXX fans to use in large recreation hall two years ago. Really helped cool things down. Went back to same retailer to buy 3rd fan, but had different brand, same size, same price, same promises. Not so! Other brand vibrated, slipped around on the floor, and did not produce comparable cooling effect. Ordered 2 MAXX fans through Amazon and they match the quality and cooling of the original MAXX fans. Someone mentioned the fans are noisey - I find that the "noise" is caused by the volume of air blowing through the blades, not by the motor. Running the fans on low or medium speeds lowers the "noise" and provides plenty of cooling breeze. There are 4 fans in a 30' X 40' room and they do not interfere with hearing music while dancing. They are not silent, but not distracting. Service was fantastic. Fans were delivered in 5 days. Perfect condition.

It is what it says a great piece of equipment
It came out of the packaging with only two screws to attach bottom stand. Took two minutes to do two I bought. I turned them on with a quick adjustment and in ten minutes I had the best cool comfort zone. Good quality at the right price and functionality is excellent. Thank you for the quality of these products.

I'd buy it again
This was purchased to circulate air in my hangar. It gets hot in an un-insulated metal building when it's 100 outside. This fan can blow a large stream of fresh air across the hangar and blow papers off my bench. And that is on Low. It keeps the temperature tolerable. In fact, I quickly notice when I step out of the air flow as the temperature jumps up. So when I have to move to another area to work, the fan is re-aimed . There is not a big difference in flow between HI and Low. But the noise change is noticeable. Even so the overall noise is minimal and is the woosh of the air and not the motor. It runs smooth and balanced. I've fallen asleep in a chair with the fan blowing on me so it's not very noisy. And you can hear the radio over the fan without having to turn it up much at all. It arrived in a box, inside a loosely packed medium-sized box, inside yet another large box. The outer cardboard box was damaged but the other two were intact. No damage to the fan at all. It took a couple of minutes to assemble the base and use the fan. The unit is not industrial. I wouldn't expect it to survive very long with a crew throwing it around or dropping tools/materials on it. But for a personal workshop, it is more than enough. For home use it would be plenty and a lot more flow than an 18" fan. It would blow air all the way across the house. I run it for hours at a time with no problems. It probably has 25 hours since I bought it.

Running well to start; will get 5 stars if it lasts longer than the previous fan...
Works great, high speed works well to keep air circulation across our very long basement. We run it nonstop. Our previous fan was 2 inches bigger and ran for almost 4 years.

No stars
This fan started off really well but didnt last a year before the motor burned up in. I ran it daily in a dust free room. It should not have had any issues. But up until the motor ran hot, froze up and became a fire hazard, it ran quietly and very well. I do not recommend it.

What a quality product.
Actually more than I've come to expect and it's something that's made in the USA. The quality was apparent when I opened the boxl It's a little heave but that's because of the quality of the materials it's made of. It delivers everything that a household fan should provide plus more. Its reasonably quiet, even on high, and puts out a high volume of air. the previous "made in China" fan I bought was a lot less expensive and now I know why that fan was cheaper. Compared to The MAXX AIR that fan was pure junk

Worst quality fan I have ever owned!
Update: December 7, 2013 (Pearl Harbor Day)As you can see, the one out of three fans I received without immediately obvious defect worked - until now. I happened to tip the fan over while standing on the floor - an accident any floor fan is sure to experience sooner or later. Most fans, you simply pick them up again - no big deal. Not this fan! Incredibly, although the cage was not damaged (the cage at least seems to be made of steel), the blades are so soft that the mere momentum of tipping bent one of them into the cage, stopping the fan. Even more incredible, where the blade hit the cage, the cage wire cut a sizable notch into the blade! The blades seem to have the mechanical strength of one of those disposable pie plates you get with a store bought pie. Maybe a double thickness pie plate. And bending it back doesn't work - it's impossible to get the balance right, so the fan vibrates horribly and is ready for the trash.I wish it were possible to see behind these American importer fronts to the actual Chinese manufacturers, so negative reviews could be more targeted. If they stop selling this piece of garbage as "MaxxAir", it will just appear under some other brand name. They make some good quality goods in China today, but they are desperately in need of some better accountability, because buying a Chinese product is just a crap shoot - you might luck out, or you might roll snake eyes and get a complete piece of throw away garbage, like this item. I'm not a xenophobe, but until Chinese manufacturing gets their house in order I long for some locally built simple products (like floor fans), which have identifiable manufacturer's brand names, and a reputation of some value to the brand owner! A pox on their miserable house.***Original review***After receiving two out of three of these fans with serious defects, I am forced to conclude that this product is made with zero quality control. The first fan I ordered arrived with minor shipping damage. However the distributor cheerfully sent me replacement parts without charge, and other than this the fan looked great and ran quietly and powerfully. So I ordered another one. However, the second fan arrived with a bizarre defect: it looked like one of the blades had been bent with a pair of pliers! That a fan looking like this could leave the factory should have been a red flag to me. But since Amazon was willing to replace it without cost and my first impression had not quite been broken, I accepted a replacement, tested both fans again, and then put them away until the summer.Well, now the summer has come, and guess what? Soon after beginning to use one of the fans I watched it slow down, pick up speed (but not to its prior speed), and then begin to squeak continuously. Bottom line: in less than 20 hours use one of the "permanently lubricated" bearings has failed! I own a fan which has run like new for 10 years without care other than cleaning, but this fan failed in less than a day's use.It remains to be seen what resolution Amazon and the manufacturer will offer, but no matter what they do, I have wasted my time with this product. Do not buy this brand of fan!
