I love it!
Wow! I’ve never used this quality of film and it is amazing! I actually love the way it looks. I took a leap on using this expensive film as I’ve really only used cheap Kodak or Fuji stuff. I am well pleased!

A really great film
I have shot about 20 rolls of this stuff, so this review has been long in the making. And my final word is: Kodak Portra 400 is a really great film. It's not too punchy, it's not too muted, it's very accurate reproducing colors, and has GREAT latitude. Accidentally overexposed three stops? No problem, you most likely got the shot. Set the ISO to 1600? Don't worry about it. Don't even push the film. It will be fine, with little extra grain. This stuff is EXCELLENT, and amazing for portraits! Use this film along with a low-light lens like an f/1.4, set it to f/2 or under, and underexpose a stop or two, and you will get DREAMY portraits.I give it 4.5 stars, because I wish it was just a little bit more punchy, but that is a very minor complaint (and I complain too much.) I'll just mark it with 5 stars.

Kodak Portra Professional ISO 400 35mm 36exp color negative film
This and the Portra ISO 100 are my two favorite color films. The color is very accurate and great for (surprisingly!--not) portraiture, but it is also flexible and performs well in other usages. I have used it in both indoor studio settings as well as outdoors, and it seems to give great color both ways. The grain is very fine, even on the 400, and it is almost unnoticeable. I did not notice it at all while C-Printing on 11x14 paper, and only noticed it when I scanned it and tried to print it at 12x17 paper.Overall though, it's a very malleable film, and worth it compared to other brands of color film currently available, which in my experience, always fall flat.
