Third Update: Google Cloud Printer? NOT ANY MORE
As of late August 2014, Google Cloud Print from HP Chromebook 11 is not working. Period. I have contacted Chromebook help, but my hopes are not high. I wasted my money on this printer because 4 months is not long enough to justify a purchase of this sort. Even though I feel sure the problem was caused by Google, I cannot recommend this printer if you want to use it as a Cloud printer. Otherwise, it works very well.Update on 2-step verification: the printer stopped printing from my Chromebook in mid-August 2014. It still prints fine from my other computers (one wired, two wireless). I suspect it's a Google Chrome problem, but if this printer is supposed to work as a Cloud printer, it should work when Chrome updates. When I tried reinstalling the printer using 2-step verification, I received the dreaded "Internal Error" that others have commented on elsewhere. Here's the work-around my son came up with: set up a new, separate gmail.com account without 2-step verification and then invite other users to share this printer with you. It works, but this is certainly NOT optimal!Bottom Line Up Front:If you are adding this printer as a Google cloud printer and you use 2-step verification on your Google account:The password you are being asked for when you try to authenticate your account in the Brother set up screen is the automatically generated password from Google, NOT your Google account password. Background:I bought this printer specifically to use with my Google Chromebook because the specifications clearly state it works as a Google cloud printer.I followed the set up instructions carefully and got the printer working on my wireless network and with one of my Windows computers without a problem. However, when I went to install the printer on my Chromebook, first there were no instructions included in the box. No problem. I went to the Brother site and downloaded the instructions for adding the printer to the cloud. I followed the instructions carefully and got to the point where my Google account would be authenticated. I was asked to enter my Google email and password. I did this very carefully to make sure I typed my Google password correctly. No matter what I tried I could not be authenticated. I called Brother's help line three times. The first time I was told it was a Google problem and to "call Google." Right. The second time I was told to update my firmware and the problem would be fixed. I updated the firmware wirelessly from the Brother site and tried again to authenticate myself. Failure. I called Brother a third time. This time I was told once again that this was all they could do and to "call Google." I was just about to pack up the printer to return it when I asked the Brother technician if the problem could be related to the fact I use 2-step verification in Google. He said, "what's that?" Ah-ha! The light went on in my pea brain. This might just be the problem. I went into my Google account and requested an application-specific password for the printer. Once I copied and pasted that one-time password into the authentication box, I was authenticated. I should have thought of this early on in the process, but I didn't. And Brother needs to add to the instructions a simple statement that if you use 2-step verification in your Google account, you will need an application-specific password to authenticate your account during set up--NOT your Google password. One more thing: the instructions for installing the printer as a cloud printer tell you to enter the IP address of the machine. I stupidly thought "the machine" was my computer, but by "machine" they mean the printer. You need the IP address of the printer, which can be found and printed from the printer menu.I will use the printer for a while and, if all goes well, I will raise the number of stars. The printer seems very nice. I had no power surge issues and the set up on my Windows computers was a snap. I would recommend updating the firmware right away to avoid any other potential problems. The print quality, speed, noise level, and auto duplex all seen excellent. As is often the case, it's the documentation that falls short.Updated Review: Upgraded to 4 stars. Good printer BUT a couple of ongoing issues:1. Some people say they cannot duplex print when using as cloud printer. I have the opposite issue: it ONLY duplex prints. This is actually preferable because I can print one page at a time if I want one-sided printing. However, you should know if you want to use this primarily as a cloud printer, THERE ARE SOME PROBLEMS.2. For some unknown reason, the printer cannot print USPS labels from my Chromebook. It prints them fine from my Windows computer, but I get error messages from the Chromebook. I tried numerous ways to solve the problem, but at some point you just don't want to spend your life diagnosing printing problems (at least I don't).This is a nice laser printer, the price is right, and the quality good. But as a cloud printer, not all problems have been worked out.

Cost Effective, Efficient Printer with Excellent Toner( yields 3000-8000 copies)& Drum Unit Capacity of 30,000 copies
So I bought this printer because of the capacity of it Toner and Drum unit. In my research this was the Best Printer, at an affordable price, that can be used for home (and small offices). I needed a Printer that could print a lot of school papers, assignments etc. or just any general documents for printing without my worrying about running out of ink, or in this case toner, and from the specs. found this would be ideal. This printer is sold with a FULL toner cartridge= TN720 Standard yield which should give 3000 prints (not starter toner, like many others that gives between 800-1200 prints) Its Drum Unit has the Capacity of 30,000 prints; be mindful that others has the capacity of 12,000-18,000 prints) So do the math, Definitely this gives approx. twice the prints as many other Laser Printers in it's category.Pros: 1) Capacity of Drum Unit and Toner. 2) It's Wi-Fi (wireless) and wired connections, so you have a choice. 3) Wireless Connection is super easy. 4) Can be connected to several devices, as stated. ( Mine is connected wirelessly to 2 laptops, one with Windows 7 and the other with Windows 8.1; an Apple iPad mini; an Apple iPod, and although never tried, am sure will print from other Mobile devices, like cell phone etc. I only needed to connect Printer to my network, and all the devices connected to my Network were automatically connected.(Ease of Use) 5) Energy Saver since Printer automatically goes to sleep mode, when not in use. 6) Printer has features to save toner(Toner save Mode)and paper (Duplex Printing) 7) Print quality is excellent, clear and concise prints.Con.-- My only thing noted as con is the printer speed when attached as Wired connections is much faster, than when used wirelessly. I am no expert, but I guess this is expected. My expectation, since this is a Laser Printer, I expect SPEED no matter what, so thus the 4 stars. Have printers for months 2 months now, use in home, and so far no trouble with printer or with printing (apart from the con mentioned)In order to get 8000 Toner print you need to Purchase the TN750 High Yield Black Toner ( Price range from $76-over $100.00)This is Monochrome, so of course NO Color Print. Received in Box: Printer, Drum unit, TN720 Standard Toner and plug-in cord. It's good to always read the reviews, before purchase of any products, but let me state, be aware of the Negative reviews of this product- many are misleading. I am HAPPY I CHOOSE NOT to pay attention to these on my decision to purchase. Especially the reviews about problems with the circuits and circuit breakers. NO CIRCUIT/CIRCUIT BREAKER ISSUES FOUND WITH THIS PRINTER. A little light flicker, on initial use and sometimes when awake from sleep, that all.My recommendation or two-cents is: get rid of any Inkjet Printer you have, since with the price of Inks today they are a waste of money and the fact that they are so slow= waste of time. Initially you might think the price of a Laser Printer is too High, plus considering the cost of Toner, but you can get this printer with EXTRA High yield Toner for approx. $230.00(Brand New). (Be mindful that the Toner received with this Printer has an individual Cost of $49-over $60)This printer finally replaced 5 inkjet printers, since I just bought new ones, instead of expensive inks. NO MORE INKJETS. You will find that buying this laser printer will prove far more economical and efficient. Hope this helps.Feel free to do the research yourself.Excellent Laser Printer to acquire. Definitely Recommend.

Fantastic! I love this printer already.
This was my first non-HP printer, so I had a clear benchmark to compare it to. I used it for personal and business, the duplex feature reduced the amount of paper I carry in my bag. Print quality was clear, print speed was fast with/without duplex. From sending a file to printer and then warm-up to print only took a few seconds. The paper tray held more paper than HP, and had an external low-tech supply indicator, which was very helpful. The special thing about this printer compare to HP printer was that it had adhoc wireless network printing. This means your computer could identify it on the wifi network without the need to install extra softwares and drivers unlike HP. i-devices could use air-print to print faster and easier than the HP. The only minor flaw was the noise it made while printing. It sounded like a turbo-charge engine spooling up when its printing. It's kind of amusing to watch at first.

Very economical work horse
This is a fantastic printer for low cost high volume printing. I have had it for one year now, and I use it for our church bulletins and for making booklets. I purchase consumables from 123inkcartridges.ca and my cost per page is very small-- about 1/2 cent per page. I do about 1600 pgs per month, mostly duplex, and I never have paper jams. My old Brother which was a similar model was still running strong after 100,000 pgs (about 5 years old), but was starting to have some jams in the last year or two and was at the recommended age for a new fuser and rollers, so it was time for a new one. I gave the old one to a friend who will probably get a few more years out of it (with much lighter useage). This newer model has a few nice improvements including much better performance at printing envelopes (though I still would not recommend it for that for high volume). It also has a little information screen that the old one did not have.

Fantastic printer!
Great printer. Easy to setup and works well with OSX Yosemite (you do need to download the new printer driver from the Brother website - the CD included with product will not work). Another important point to note is that the package does NOT include a USB cable nor an ethernet cable so you will need to provide your own. I really liked the fact that this unit takes very low power (less than a LED light bulb) when on standby. It's great for the environment. Note that the product only works with either wireless or wired (you cannot have both running). In my case, the printer is plugged into an Airport express via USB and wireless is on (which is a workaround for keeping both your wired and wireless on at the same time!). If you score a deal on Amazon, go for it!

Easy to set up on home network
Easy to set up on home network. Very simple plug and play and detected by Windows automatically which I thought was amazing. Like others have mentioned it's very loud when firing up but if you have network set up you can put it away where you don't have to listen to it.Not sure about power consumption but when it fires up from sleep the lights flicker in my house. Maybe it's plugged into the same fuse on the breaker but I didn't realize it drew so much power.

so far so good.
